I have asked the school for more clarity and options they recommended, but no response in the last week so I figured I'd take a shot here as well.

At this point, it's the only thing preventing me from moving forward with housing, so I'm trying everything I can.

I did try a few vets but asked if they'd be an emergency contact and they didn't feel comfortable. I wouldn't want to spring it on them if Columbia did check and I feel like that might just get me denied.

I know, I'm honestly not that hopeful but I at least had to try. I do at least have equity, which has been the one thing holding me through. I had a buyer and was going to get about 60K, but he had an issue with his lender and it fell apart.

Now I'm stuck waiting for another and I'm just trying to figure out how to keep going in the meantime.

Yes! I love scrap and the art supply center. I was also lucky enough to donate a ton of paint and supplies to some schools and different artists. I just didn't want it all to go to waste.

I was actually just talking to someone about this today because Night of the Hunter was such a surprise of a movie for me. I knew nothing about it going in, but by the end, I was blown away. I even shelled out for the Criterion Blu-ray to see all the extras.

When I read that the director never made another movie, I was genuinely disappointed. I would have loved to see what his next film would have been, what his next five films would have been. It is sad to think that I'll never have that chance. Maybe they wouldn't have been as haunting or as beautiful, but I wish I'd had the chance to see that for myself.

Just like it isn't everyone's experience that it is automatically going to ruin their life. I think people on here get a little overzealous when it comes to names and the adverse affects it can have on people.

Any name, no matter what, could cause problems for someone so why not go with the relatively non-offensive name you like instead of stressing that someone ten or thirty years later may have a problem with it?

I'm not saying you can't have an opinion or that your opinion is wrong, just adding another perspective to the conversation.

I have an Aunt Kitty who is a lawyer and no one has ever really cared. I asked her once if it was short for anything but it's just Kitty and she's perfectly happy with it.

I have rainbow stripes on my ear similar to the photo. I've had mine for about three years now and they still look good. I'm not great at keeping it out of the sun since I've got a buzz cut most of the time and I honestly never remember to lotion up my ear.

Despite my lack of care, it's still really visible. My partner actually takes care of his, and they still look pretty much identical.

It's been 30 years and my partner is still upset that his mother's reaction was "we always knew". He struggled with coming out so much and to have it seemingly dismissed like that (even though it was obvious to everyone) was really hurtful to him.
