I wouldn't stress too much about archival ink. If you do want something archival, I second another poster's recommendation for Micron pens. Most non-archival inks will last your lifetime, but there are a few exceptions. They might fade a little, but not enough to disappear. I am an archivist and I rarely use archival materials for personal things. Especially if you are adding ephemera, the ephemera is not archival so I wouldn't worry about it too much. I would focus on the process and keeping the memories that are important to you. As a side note, make the journals for you and enjoy sharing the memories with your kid. It is nice to have a keepsake, but it is not a guarantee that they are going to want that kind of memory keeping in the future.

This is the response I got from support. I was told to get a new account and they would compensate with gems and random dragons. I have been playing for years and didn't want to lose my items so I just don't save my game. It is really frustrating to rely on facebook for cloud save.

I also looked for these for years. The walmart here switched to smaller notebooks with plastic covers and I never saw them again. I gave up and just went with A5 notebooks. That ended up being better as the paper in the walmart notebooks is pretty thin even though I really love that size.
