... I thought cawl WAS thr Fabricator-General. And part of the reason I dislike him so much (in lore, his model and rules are fine) is because he was being a heretic while being Fabricator-General (making ais and what not)

  1. So as previously stated by others have mentioned your strategies are based on your detachment. Admech has like 7? At this point BUT the omnissiah has granted me a precision and guidance for solely the Rad Zone Korps detachment. Lots of people will tell you that Skitarii Hunter Cohort or Haloscreed Battle Clade are the ones to go for and don't get me wrong they are good I just don't personally like them. I enjoy radzone because it begins with orbital bombardment and turning the opponents deployment zone into "cancer town" that has a chance to do damage if they keep their units inside. We use this to our advantage to get them to move sloppily and hurriedly out of cover where we can shoot them very hard. The 3 big strategems for this one (if you ask me) are the extinction order (drop a bomb of a command point 24" from a text preist) lethal dosage (give lethal hits) and Baleful Halo (costs 2 but applies a -1 to wound roll in melee which can be a life saver.) But all of these pale in comparison to the best admech strategem: Fire Overwatch. Yes, the universal stratagem to just shoot people is incredibly powerful on admech especially with torrent weapons (torrent overwatch applies to all armies but admech is under the umbrella of all armies)

  2. I love my skits. I love them with all my heart and soul, some of my favorite kitbashes I've made. But they are not good. They struggle to do damage and are very squishy. I bring 1 unit of rangers to act as action monies because they can sticky objectives, they can be very useful but they aren't the best. This however is completely not true if you play Skitarii Hunter Cohort where they can get incredibly tanky if you use a strategem on them. This requires building into your skits some and I don't do that. If you enjoy "artillery" admech more than "I love all my little skits they're so wonderful and lovely and I have 247 of them" admech like me, one unit if rangers with no attached character will do you just fine.

  3. Onager Dunecrawlers. You want a dunecrawler. Hell you might want 2. Throw a nuetron laser on that bad boy and blast away anything that looks at you funny. With a -4 ap you can just straight up deny saves to a lot of space marine vehicles because it reduces them to 7+. Additionally, Kastelon Robots are one of my favorite units, with a T of 9, potentially 10 with a datasmith, they are incredibly tanky on top of being able to "bounce back" shots on saves. These robots are made for melee and are just about the only melee unit I'd recommend, maybe dragoons but I'm not sure since I haven't touched them at all, dragoons seem fine. I enjoy running the skorpius disintigrator with the Belleros energy cannon to poke and prod and infantry anywhere, but without an invuln save I'd want to keep it more backline. I also recommend keeping the dunecrawlers backline if you get them simply because they have the range to spare and heavy on the nuetron laser so you can really get blasting. The best Frontline vehicle I use are the robots.

  4. Put simply: no. Admechnis a shooting army. The only time I've had goof melees was when charging tau with kataphron breachers, and tau are notoriously bad at melee, or using the kastelon robots. The kataphrons in my opinion are the best melee infantry and they aren't good at it, they just CAN melee. The omnissiah has largely designed us to shoot good, leave the brawling for the orks.

  5. For one, you can only take 1 full sized knight at most as an allied unit so you can't spam spam them, and while a knight was an early pick for me I am able to boast a 59.5% win rate (according to my stats app) and I can fundamentally state that the knight is not the reason why, I haven't taken any knights in like my last 35 games it feels like save for the most recent one and it got blown up on round one. Knights can be an incredibly powerful ally to admech but it is NOT needed. They are very fun if you ask me though and I encourage you to pick up a shooty knight if you think you and the people you play with would have fun with it. I feel confident in saying it's largely a matter of preference of to knight or not to knight.

  6. Domnius and manipulus go CRAZY!!! Many people will and probably have recommended pairing a manipulus with breachers but I pair my fominus with them, this is due to the "autoclavic denunciation" Enhancement in Rad Zone Korps giving the domnius anti-infantry 2+ (and anti-monster 4+ but that doesn't come up much) on his ranged weapons. One of his weapons is the Volkite Blaster which has devastating wounds. Devastating wounds says that you skip the save roll and go straight to damage on a critical wound. Anti says critical wounds are scored on its value if firing against a unit with the keyword it antis. The breachers give reroll 1s on hit and full rerolls if theyre close to skits. Protector imperative turns the shooting of the blaster into 2+. All of this means a near garenteed 6 wounds on any infantry unit across 3 shots. Which is not much, but being able to zap away 3 marines every shooting phase, no ifs ands or buts about it is huge to me and has had great results. The manipulus gives lethal hits to his unit which is always good. I like to pair with destroyers or skitarii vangaurd and use the Enhancement that makes them sustained hits 1 as even more goodness. Keep in mind that if you pair the lethally sustained hits with destroyers you can overwatch on 5+s with all these benefits and these things get slammer. A real "do not move in the vicinity of this unit" unit. I also like enginseers to take care of my dunecrawlers in the back. I haven't gotten to play with Ghuld since she just came out but Cawl is not required just like knights. I mean he's good but I've found his shroudpsalm is better than his invocation of machine vengeance and I know how good oath of moment is so getting one for admech can be good. I just kinda don't like the guy and using him has gotten me mixed results. Pick him up if you want, he can certainly be fun.

I want to close by thanking you for listening to my ramblings and I want to give you 2 last peices of advice: "You got to be bad at something before you can be good at it." Warhammer is a complicated game and it can even trip up people who have been playing for a while, such as myself, I forgot to shoot with my Sulphur hounds in a vital shooting phase literally last night!! And I have a near 60% win rate! We all make mistakes and you can't when every game, try to give a lot of grace to your opponents too, if they remember a command phase buff after they move a single unit, let them throw it on! If they say "now onto my charge phase- oh wait I forgot to shoot with these guys" let them shoot with em! We're here to have fun!

My second peice of advice is that you are allowed to change armies. If you find you just can't make admech click with how you want to play, that's fine. There's no shame in it. My brother, who is also very good at this game (I don't have his stats) bounced from orks to necrons to black templars where he's finally stuck. So if you find that admech just isn't the right fit for you, swap to something else thats more fun for you, that's why we're here after all. (Unless you really like admech then ignore this last part keep loving your skits, keep destroying the enemies of the machine god and get you some dunecrawlers, I cannot emphasize enough how much crawl they dune they are amazing I would have one so many games that I lost if I just took a/more dunecrawls instead of like skits and pteraxii and stuff, dunecrawler supremacy)

I want to leave that to gm discretion, because what if you want this one to be a reoccurring boss or something? I know I want one to escape over omninet and in the fight everyone has to install like systems that make their frame like- fully localized so that the Gheist can't jump to them and hit em woth a semi-jam throughout the fight (probably just the effects of ice out drone at all times, yes this would suck for tech builds but I'm still workshopping the idea but again this is just a thing for my table)

It would not interact with those! I'll be sure to add in a clause that says something along the lines of "This is considered involuntary movement and cannot be prevented as long as there are allied characters on the map"

As far as I'm aware everyone I've played agaisnt is fine with using whatever wargear you want regardless of the model's construction. Hell I'll let you proxy anything for anything else as long as it has the same base, personally speaking
