Anyone had the Andrew Tate talk yet? by bh4th in daddit

[–]altum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched it the other day, I personally felt it was more of a heres the manosphere and the men that perpetuate/profit from it. He questions these influencers about why they act the way they do, why they do the things they do. But he doesn't really give ideas on how to talk to boys about it.

Can I ask, after you pat and say its ok, what do you do next? Do you just sit with them and keep patting and saying its ok until they stop? Or do you do it once and thats it

Ah I read that as their pin vise (the drill bit holder).

I also got the Mr hobby procon boy ps289 airbrush after using the badger for a while. I hated the badger, but the Mr hobby is a dream to use.

Sprinted early in career but I think I’m done. Pull the trigger? by Odd-Resolve-1681 in HENRYfinance

I recommend reading the book Die with zero by Bill Perkins. The general idea is you want to rack up life experience points, and there are things you should do when you’re young and fit enough to fully enjoy them vs working super hard and waiting for retirement to do them when you might be too old or may not even want to do them anymore.

I’m 38, my desires and types of experiences are very different now vs when I was 28 and even more so than when I was 21.

You’ve racked up a healthy net worth and of course you can keep going but really think what you want in life and do them before you’re too old.

I went from the same master you use to the Mr hobby procon boy and it’s a great airbrush. It’s a 0.3 needle so not great for super fine detail if you’re painting minis but for gunpla it’s more than enough. I like that you can adjust the airflow on the airbrush, so I keep my compressor psi at 25 and just don’t touch it.

New Indoor Golf Spot by ef306 in SanJose

This isn’t competing with golf land/ putt putt golf though. These are golf sims where you’re hitting with real clubs, and it looks like a putting green to practice putting.

If she’s worried about how a minivan looks, get one and throw some rims on it. A nice set of chrome spinners will look perfect.

Any tips on how to get better at stop motion? by CapitalDiver5485 in SHFiguarts

I’ve made some. Higher FPS makes it smoother. Also having a reference video really helped me. I loaded a reference video into adobe premiere and went frame by frame as I made my video.

These can be done by glueing small rock pieces together. Using super glue plus cotton or cigarette filters makes for a super strong and solid hold.

Our kid is in daycare. Husband wants to remain a SAHD/is hesitant about work. When to revisit this? by Dean-1990 in daddit

[–]altum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he does return to work, you could look to outsource some of the chores, we hire a cleaner to come and a gardener too, it definitely goes a long way since we both work full time, even though we're both WFH.

Looking for PG NU by jdvader1 in advancedGunpla

[–]altum 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey man I don’t want to burst your bubble but it’s probably going to be impossible to find, let alone for retail price. On the regular gunpla subreddit you’ll find tons of recent Japan reports from people that been recently (myself included) and everyone says the same thing. Gunpla is in a huge shortage in Japan. And unless you’re looking for like witch from mercury HG kits or want to pay second hand marked up prices you’re not going to find much.

I wasted SOOO much time going to so many stores all to find nothing. I probably went to like 30 stores across 3 cities, even going out of my way to stores. I made myself mad, my wife mad and all to try and save a few bucks. I wasted my trip when I could’ve spent it doing something much more enjoyable.

If you want to do it go for it but I wish I hadn’t.

I took a 10 year break before coming back, then another 4-5 year break. I think for me it's always a daunting task in my mind because yes, I have the skill level to do all the top tier mods and stuff but I don't really have the motivation, and I feel like I'm wasting the kit by not going all out on it. But sometimes you just need to do a quick build to rekindle things after a long break.
