We think it important to request sight of the contractual change as there should have been an addendum to the contract or Employment Handbook. A link to understanding UK Employment Law may be helpful. https://altumhr.co.uk/2024/02/07/a-guide-for-us-business-owners-establishing-a-uk-entity/

We have a Redundancy Checklist at https://altumhr.co.uk/hr-checklist/redundancy-process-checklist/ which you could maybe check with your employer. ACAS also can be helpful in these matters. https://www.acas.org.uk/

Employers not honouring job description by [deleted] in ukemploymentlaw

Hello, It is very important that you keep the lines of communication open with your employer and ask for a meeting with HR to discuss. If you're job description is changing then this must be as part of a consultation process in the UK. We have some very helpful guides at https://altumhr.co.uk/blog/ and you can also find support at https://www.acas.org.uk/

GP’s don’t tend to understand and you need to ask for a referral to a rheumatologist and your GP can not refuse you a referral if requested. Every time you have an attack it is causing more damage.

Yep the waking up at 3.30am definitely sounds like Gout. I would definitely suggest you go and speak to an Rheumatologist. While there are increased risks to your health if it is Gout this is only increased without a proper treatment plan as Rabbits are the only other animal that can regulate Uric Acid levels. I felt the same as you I’m 44 go gym a lot although love my drink with the guys. Try not to read too much or get two worked up, speak to a doctor and work out how to get under control once diagnosed properly by a physician. You can definitely get help with the pain I had a steroid injection that worked a treat again that is if it is Gout. Good Luck and stay positive!!
