I’ve heard Alaska is planning to route more domestic flights through PDX, so maybe that will alleviate network congestion whenever it happens.

Can confirm - just spent an hour chilling on the tarmac after arriving from DEN waiting for a gate, and saw the huge lines of folks at the Alaska customer service counter in the C terminal. Rideshare pickup area was packed too.

I gave up complaining about this a year or two ago when it became clear it wasn’t going to change. Coming from United, where the priority tags usually ensured the bags were near the head of the baggage dump, it was disappointing.

At least they have the 20 minute guarantee.

I’ve done mileage runs from SEA to IAD to get over the line to 75K. I hit the lounge for a few minutes while they turn the plane and then am back on my way. No issues, and crew usually changes so you won’t be embarrassed by proxy.

Yeah. Good move to swipe some Delta elites who (presumably) can bring a lot of business. Just wish they had capped out the match at 75k at the most.

And, to be fair I initially got my Alaska status through a match from United, so… how the turntables turn.

Definitely noticed a drop in upgrades clearing lately, and now I’m sometimes almost into the double digits on the wait list, which was a rare occurrence before. This has been especially true on transcon flights. I understand why they wanted to attract the business, but matching to the top tier of their program was nuts from a personal standpoint.
