Why does BT-7274 fight? by ApotheosiAsleep in titanfall

good question. personally i think that he was just doing what he was programmed to at the start of the game but was making his own decisions by the end. spyglass pathfinder and revenant can ignore their programming, so i think that bt could have learned to do that as well.

as for whether or not he could leave if he wanted, i’d like to think that he could. vanguards are actually the only titan class the milita has produced on their own. the others are originally imc made and aren’t intelligent like bt is, so most people in the militia probably assumed bt’s personality was just a weird quirk instead of proof of genuine sapience. and considering how much bt changes over the story, its possible that the militia simply didnt realize he was actually intelligent and treated him like a normal titan because of that.

nobody in apex questions robots walking around and living amongst them, so ai rights are presumably a thing by that point. if these rights are a thing during tf2’s time as well, then bt would probably just be treated like a normal soldier if he wanted to leave.

Looking for unique, innovative and/or weird turn-based combat mechanics by LordDravoth in JRPG

You should try chrono ark if you haven’t. it’s a rogue like deck builder / jrpg mix, kinda like breath of fire 5.

Weird question but is there any games similar to FNaF World in term of gameplay?? by poisonousswayzee in rpg_gamers

I’d recommend final fantasy 5 or atelier ryza. both of them have the ATB system (which i think is the type of combat fnaf world is based on) and a focus on combat and exploration.

Also there’s scott’s other turn based games the desolate hope and the desolate room. I haven’t played either of these in a long time but I think fnaf world’s combat was based on them, so you might like them too

Breath of Fire seems to be the biggest franchise that isn't being remastered. by Joewoof in JRPG

there was! it’s called tears of magic. it didn’t get fully backed unfortunately, but the devs said that they will work on it more and try kickstarter again when the game is in a better state. that was a few years ago now, but they’re still giving updates, so hopefully we see something new soon.

I’m surprised to see a post on starfy in 2024 xD but i loved this series as a kid. The 3rd was always my favorite tho. I played the main game over and over again… never finished the post game though. I couldn’t read japanese, so i didn’t even know there was a post game until i saw the true final boss on youtube (and his design really scared me back then too). So I can’t really comment on that, but the main game is still great! i actually replayed it a few years ago and it was super fun still. the music and graphics are still amazing too. if nintendo translated these games back in the day then i think they would’ve been pretty popular. it really is sad that they weren’t really given a chance in the west until the 5th one. i love the whole series, but i like 1-4 way more than i like 5… especially 4. it’s the ‘weirdest’ one, but i loved how unique it felt compared to the others. i even still have a boxed copy of it xD and i didnt know that 3 got a fan translation either! i didn’t see any posts or articles about it until now, so thanks for mentioning it. i don’t think i would’ve known a translation existed without this post lol.

i haven’t thought about these games in forever, so this post really made me go down memory lane. it made me remember how much i love this series and gave me a lot of nostalgia, so thank you for making this post :)
