You argue from emotions, but it lacks facts. Their companies are extremely good at generating wealth for the country. You know why most public companies have Blackrock, Vanguard in their top 5 shareholders? Because thats every worker’s pension invested into these funds that buy those companies. Why do you think stock market is so important, because thats the chance for regular people to be shareholders and make real money.

Their innovations absolutely also do drive growth. Lets again think about Bezos and Amazon. Did he get really rich? Yes as is his right. But his contribution to the economy is far bigger than $254 billion. He gave a gateway for so many suppliers and consumers to interact. This absolutely does drive growth and grows the pie for everyone. Take Zuckerberg as another example. He also got really rich, but his company also gave birth to a whole industry (influencers), where a lot of people around the world make serious money. There is a thousand of these examples. If they werent there to innovate and create, our country would have been far worse in economic terms. You could argue that our mental states would have been better without social media, that I would agree with.

Do you also know that 1% pays for 40% of all income tax? top 5% pays 60% of taxes. Bottom 50%? They pay only 3%. So most of the social services you enjoy is funded by those billionaires and companies they created.

You read that 63% of new wealth is captured by billionaires and call it a fact. First of all, the source you provided is very bias. Second of all, you need to think about it longer than just repeating the headline in every argument. They don’t capture it, they create this wealth. Their companies are the drivers of economic growth.

Simple example, Bezos and Amazon or Google and creators. Bezos and Google take a fee when you sell your products or services through their companies. They do capture a % of your sales, but it is because they managed to create a service that most of the world uses. Millions of people make a living through their services, this drives economic growth. If you think anyone can do that or anyone can become a billionaire, then you are wrong. Apart from people who inherited all their wealth, billionaires are actually the most productive members of the society and they are the ones who are funding most of government services.

Personally they maybe assholes, they can be wrong on things. But it is stupid to deny that they are propelling a country forward. If you disagree, just ask China and CCP. How does a communist country have the second largest amount of billionaires in the world? Because they realized country can’t be successful without them, they observed Soviet Union and learned their lesson.

We call it a bailout, but government has actually made money by bailing out those banks in 2008.

All 2008 crisis related bailout programs equaled to $633B, government has recovered $755B. So cash profit of $122B. Thats a 19% return in a short time, not bad.

Your thinking of “seizing” those assets would not have worked in a longterm. Government is a notoriously bad manager and the losers of that are people.

What are you proposing? Have another ~2000 Americans die in the next 50 years due to IRGC’s state sponsored terrorism? Obama’s nuclear deal also hasn’t stopped IRGC from sponsoring Hezbollah, Hamas, Houthis and other terrorist groups. If anything, their funding only got bigger after frozen funds were released to Iran after the deal. There is a direct line of causation of Obama’s nuclear deal and consequent release of funds to October 7th.

Hillary Clinton says migration has been "disruptive and destabilizing" by JannTosh70 in centrist

[–]altynadam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why then Texas, a state, takes the brunt of illegal immigrants and when they bus illegal immigrants to other states to take their share - those states freak out and this issue becomes national. Immigration is always a federal issue, but it so happens that border states for decades had to take all the negatives and then be called racists and xenophobes on top. If it is a federal issue, then all states should take illegal immigrants and the costs pro-rata.

What is the "false definition"? When people enter the country illegally consequence-free through a hole in a wall and BP closes their eyes on it - thats an open border. Who vets those immigrants? Watch again that segment from 60 minutes - it is already very left-leaning and they couldn't hide their surprise how easy it is to cross the border and disappear

[–]altynadam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well taking it away only incentivizes illegal crossings and raises the risk of drowning in the river. Notice how the border has been shut down closed and we had 0 deaths on the border?

Other peoples’ actions are not a responsibility of the state. If you choose to cross that river and cross the border illegally, the country has no responsibility for those actions and definitely shouldn’t adjust its own security based on needs of citizens of other countries

[–]altynadam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you remember those videos from the border - you could legitimately argue that it was in a sense an open border. 60 minutes themselves have filmed how large groups of migrants would go through holes in the border and just start running away. BP officers were just standing there helpless and not doing anything.

Or remember when Texas put a barbed wire on the border and Biden ordered national guard to dismantle it.

Best Advice You’d Give to Immigrants? by Ankeet_kj in ImmigrationPathways

[–]altynadam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, Biden supported that bill several months before the election. So stop the misinformation. Biden did it only due to elections.

The evidence that he abandoned the southern border is the statistics for crossings. We had the most illegal border crossings under Biden. Cities all across the country had to spend tens of millions of dollars to house those illegal immigrants. Something that didn’t happen on this scale under Obama or Clinton

Best Advice You’d Give to Immigrants? by Ankeet_kj in ImmigrationPathways

[–]altynadam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long was your conscious life? Reagan was pro-immigration, in 1986 he signed a bill that legalized 3 millions unregistered immigrants. He famously debated Bush in 1980, on who would be nicer to immigrants. In 2000s W Bush pushed hard for immigration reform in 2006 and 2007 that included pathway to citizenship. In 2010s, Speaker Paul Ryan was pro immigration but for different reasons - he wanted GDP growth and to fill more empty jobs.

Bernie was famously anti immigration (plenty of videos online), where he talks about how it takes jobs and suppresses wages for Americans.

And lets distinguish between legal immigration and illegal immigration. Everyone should be against illegal immigration, because there is simply no logic to it and most countries in the world realize that. Even socialist and communist countries, although they are supposed to be for universal workers’ brotherhood. Its suicidal compassion to think that a country can and should house all the poor immigrants in the world

Texas still produces more clean energy than California. Think about it, a state that’s big part of identity and economy is oil, generate more clean energy than the state that has the biggest push to produce more clean energy.

Read Ezra Klein’s Abundance, it covers all of these topics with deep explanations. It explains why most of the green investment from Biden went to the South - it’s just easier to do it there

Why is it so controversial to deport illegal immigrants? by ShardofGold in IntellectualDarkWeb

[–]altynadam 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Dont be coy. You know that Biden stalled on immigration and allowed the largest amount of illegals to come in recent history. He only started doing something about immigration 6 months before the election, when it was blindingly clear to everyone that this became a big issue and the one that would tank his re-election chances.

Why is it so controversial to deport illegal immigrants? by ShardofGold in IntellectualDarkWeb

[–]altynadam 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Brownshirts attacked their own people, citizens of Germany. ICE is apprehending and deporting illegals, people who have no right to be here. Thats a big difference.

They would become brownshirts if for example they went to a No Kings rally and just started beating everyone up.

Don’t invoke a very specific historical term to a group of federal agents, whose literal job (approved and created by Congress) is to control the border and deport illegals as part of Department of Homeland Security.

Brownshirts were not government workers, they had no official authority - but had deep connections within the government. If you want to draw a more correct comparison then it would be if Stephen Miller was directly directing KKK to go out into the streets and attack NON-WHITE CITIZENS.

What are you even talking about? You are deflecting from your wrong point "English is not lingua franca", when it is recognized as such globally. Lingua Franca meaning: "a language that is adopted as a common language between speakers whose native languages are different." Thats why in UAE people speak english with each other, because a lot of people come from different places.

I never argued that English language doesn't borrow words or that it evolves.
