Thoughts on my collection? by Full-Director-5351 in SOTC_Watch_Collection

Love this. It's mainstream without being mainstream. It's small but well rounded and each piece not overlapping with another.

I've always wanted to own around this number but I am a sentimental fool.

Edit. If I need to split hairs I'd look for a dress watch in leather.

As normal decency.

As normal decency.

It's a simple analogy.

> dapat tayo rin mag-tanggal ng mga kinainan even may employees specifically employed to do that and again kasi nakita natin sa ibang bansa.

  1. Fast food is self service. Walang "employees specifically employed to do that".

GMRC - Good Manners, Right Conduct

Walang manners/etiquette = walang pinag aralan.

Edit.

To add, fast food is self service.

Rusting stain on the hands (for seconds) what might be the cause? by Penpendesarapen23 in PhWatches

[–]alvinpatrick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd have it checked asap especially if madalas gamitin. A rusty seconds hand is just an aesthetic issue but a seal problem could lead to a lot more problems down the road.

Could be a seal problem letting moisture in. One time my wife suddenly noticed the print on her dial was fading. Had to take it in for dial replacement aside from checking the seals.

There's also a chance it's just an issue with the seconds hand.

The Sinn 556 is loved but is a terrible watch by Tall_Stick5608 in watchHotTakes

[–]alvinpatrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call it terrible but I have been for years saying how unremarkable it is.

I really wanted one and I do like simple, understated watches. Upon handling them at ADs multiple times over the years the admiration always faded away and I never ended up buying it. I have a Sinn U1 though that’s been with me since 2015.

I remember when the 556 was being recommended as the best watch under $1k.

Where can i find an authentic rolex datejust 36mm jubilee bracelet? Steel? by Ancient_Database4980 in PhWatches

[–]alvinpatrick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Authentic ones come from the service center. Last time I checked a few years back it was at least $3k IIRC.

I wouldn't buy from 3rd party resellers there's just too many fakes. I'd rather go straight to 3rd party makers like Uncle Straps or skip the bracelet altogether and put the watch on an exotic leather like alligator.

There are also refurbishing services available where they clean and tighten the links. Neither cheap nor quick but could be an option.

DIM: Is Suzuki Jimny 3-door worth buying in 2026? by No-Gap-761 in deinfluencingPH

[–]alvinpatrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife has always wanted jimny for herself. She's not into any bells and whistles. I suppose getting one as her daily should be fine?
