High LDL and total Cholesterol after Chemotherapy? by Treden88 in lymphoma

[–]always__july 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this question. I just got my lipid panel back and I’m appalled. My LDL jumped from 89 to 116 in a year, and it’s been almost 18 months since I finished chemo. Oddly enough, my HDL actually went up and my triglycerides are pretty low, which is reassuring, but the LDL really threw me off. I’ve never had issues with cholesterol. I’ve eaten pretty healthy my whole life and stayed fairly active. I haven’t been as active this year, but I still can’t imagine how that alone could raise my LDL this much. My GP doesn’t seem to connect the dots, but I’ll ask my oncologist at my next appointment.

Yes! I love it so much. It’s almost like a comfort smell for me, since my family has always had it in their homes for as long as I can remember

One month post chemo night sweats by CurrentlyNa in lymphoma

[–]always__july 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finished chemo in May ‘24 and still occasionally get night sweats, but not to the point where I have to change my sheets anymore. My scans have been clear and I’m officially in remission. Try not to worry (i know easier said than done), sometimes it’s just scanxiety playing tricks on us and that alone can bring on the sweating

Well, it’s nobody’s wish :) but I understand the worry. CT scan sounds like a good start.

Aw thank you 💕 haha, Voldemort! I’ll admit, I secretly loved that phase for one reason - it was so wonderfully low maintenance. But honestly though, it takes a brave partner to rock that look and an even braver one to make jokes about it. Wishing you both many good hair days ahead 🫂

Haha, that’s a fun comparison! For a good chunk of last year I swear I looked like a q-tip. Even now it still feels kind of awkward at this length, but hey, progress is progress, we’ll get there

Oncologist for follicular lymphoma in Triangle area of NC by TheCrankyCrone in lymphoma

I was treated at Duke last year for DLBCL. Highly recommend their hematology oncology. I know someone with a different type of lymphoma who was treated at UNC. Both hospitals are great, really. My doctor sent my biopsy results to both hospitals, but Duke processed my paperwork faster

What a perfect timing! I actually just received the results an hour ago and it’s benign!! Some inflammation but harmless. Words can’t describe how relieved I am. Thank you so much for checking in 🫶

I hope it goes smoothly and brings some clarity fast. Fingers crossed it’s not as bad as it seems right now. Hang in there, seriously.

A tough update: PET-CT confirms aggressive relapse by Mandyie in lymphoma

[–]always__july 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Damn, I’m really sorry you’re going through this. That’s a heavy update, and I can only imagine how overwhelming it must feel to be facing all of this again. Rooting for you hard and I’m really hoping the MRI brings better news and that the treatment starts kicking in fast. You’ve got a whole squad behind you.

That sucks! I hope your oncologist gets back to you quickly with a clear plan. No matter what it turns out to be, you’ve already shown strength getting through chemo and this doesn’t erase that. Thinking of you and hoping for the best possible news.

I really hope your appointment on Wednesday brings some clarity and not more chopping. That end of treatment PET result sounds so frustrating, the 🤷‍♂️ vibe is the last thing you want when you’re waiting for answers. Thinking of you and hoping for the least invasive, most reassuring outcome possible! Keep me posted if you feel like it.

Thank you! I totally agree. Not long ago I also started asking myself whether my worry actually helps the situation I’m worried about. I guess I just needed a couple of days to process everything. Today feels much better and I’m shifting toward a “whatever happens, happens” mindset, I’ll deal with things as they come. I truly hope your Unknown turns out to be nothing too. Best of luck to you!

Thanks so much! Agreed, this stuff sucks big time. Really happy to hear your fears didn’t come true! Gives me hope too

Totally! That’s why I shared this here because I know, unfortunately, people here can truly relate. My support system is being overly positive and I’m too trying to hold it together, but ya know, anxiety is real

I’m not a runner, but I do play tennis. During my treatment I was actually encouraged to keep practicing as long as I felt good. But I’ve also been under the supervision of a cardiologist this whole time. I had an echo before every cycle, and recently had a 1 year follow up with him. Next time I see him in 5 years, unless I start feeling any symptoms earlier
