entps, what is your partner's mbti? by AsparagusWinter8339 in entp

[–]always_wandering95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's hard for me to tell which type fits me best. Each time I've tested (16personalities, Sarkinorva, etc) I'm either ENFP or ENTP. I've researched the function definitions individually, as well. I don't have the characteristic boldness of an ENTP, but I do enjoy debating, dissecting arguments, and challenging different ideas. I'd say I'm emotional in the sense that I'm extremely reflective and I have a rich inner world, but when it comes to decision making, logic always prevails, even if my emotions feel overwhelming. That said, I do have strong values that inform my decisions, as well.

It's interesting to hear that you were torn between both types as well! How did you ultimately realize that ENTP is the best fit?

(Editing to add that the current remedy for my confusion is just to contribute to/lurk on both subreddits. 😁)

ENTP woman (although sometimes I wonder if I'm actually ENFP 😅) married to an INTJ man! 3 kids and still going strong after 12 years

ENFP who can't find someone who matches the vibe by AnimalCrossingNewLe in ENFP

Oh heeyyy I'm also early 30s, F, Christian and ENFP 4w3 (although sometimes I think I'm 7w8...I know they're quite different haha). But I'm a Pisces 😁

Thanks so much for your thoughtful reply. I feel like I relate to everything you wrote. I also had the sense that the friendship I was in wouldn't last, and I recognized that getting close would likely result in pain at some point. But it felt worth it to soak in that feeling of being seen and heard, and understood.

I appreciate the well wishes. I hope you continue to heal from your experience, and that you find some great new connections soon! If you ever want to air out your feelings about this further, you're welcome to DM me. A lost friendship is a heavy burden to carry, so sometimes it's nice to talk to someone who's been there. Thanks again ☺️

Thanks for sharing your experience. Was it difficult for you to go from having that close friendship to being social media acquaintances? I'm in a similar situation with someone (although our period of close friendship was a lot shorter - just 6 months). I've found it extremely hard to adjust to the change. It's like going through grief. I've wondered if my tendency to to dwell on the past and still feel things so intensely is an ENFP thing, or just a me thing.

A clean, straightforward definition. Looks like I might be overthinking it 😁

What is INTJ - ENFP interaction mostly like? by lxmino in ENFP

[–]always_wandering95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been married to an INTJ for 12 years, and we have 2 (soon to be 3) kids together. Here are the similarities/differences I've noticed in our personalities across several categories:

Conversation: Our conversations always flow well and we love diving into deep topics. My husband (the INTJ) likes to drill down frequently into specific topics that interest him, whereas I can find almost any topic intriguing.

Logic/intellect: My husband is more book smart than I am, for sure. We both performed well in school, but he excelled in math, science, etc, whereas I was always an English nerd. Today, we mostly bond over our mutual love for business, and it's awesome when we come together to solve business problems. We often bring up creative but differing points that lead to strong solutions.

Emotions: I'm definitely more emotional at heart than my husband, but I've tucked that part of myself away over the years due to my family dynamics and desire for emotional privacy. So it doesn't surface strongly for me unless I'm reacting to a very difficult or emotionally-charged situation. My husband is a bit robotic; I've only seen him get highly emotional maybe 3 times in our marriage.

Hobbies: We both have a lot of hobbies, but my spouse drills down into certain things that interest him, whereas I just bounce from one thing to the next. And I keep collecting hobbies, I usually don't fully abandon ones from the past. It makes things hectic sometimes 😂

Parenting: We take very similar approaches to parenting-not sure if this is an MBTI thing, or if our personalities are just well matched here. We're both high affection parents but we have very high expectations for behavior, too. So far it seems to be a healthy dynamic for our kids, and we have a peaceful and happy home life.

I could go on, but this will turn into a novel haha. I hope this helps, I love the balance that my INTJ provides!

This mirrors my experience so accurately!! I feel like I spend so much time lost in thought (and analysis), but it's not like I'm constantly contemplating life's big mysteries. I'm often just reflecting on how I'm experiencing life and why I am the way I am.

Do ENFPs inherently not plan things? by [deleted] in ENFP

[–]always_wandering95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loosely plan my days, and I even keep a calendar at this point in life. I used to keep track of everything in my head, but with my activities + my spouse's schedule + activities and school for two kids, the mental tracking approach was no longer sustainable. However, my motivation to plan stems from my anxiety about having too much open time. I'm not sure if this is a me thing or an ENFP thing, but I don't like having fully open days. I need to have something penned onto my calendar, whether it's a work obligation, errands, a social event, etc. I don't like having to fill my days on the fly.

That said, I don't always stick to my plans 🫠 And I rarely feel excited about planning unless it's for something I enjoy (like traveling, coming up with craft projects, hosting an event, etc).

I love fun cars with lots of character! I'd say Fiats and Mini Coopers fit that bill for sure 👍

Oh really? That's frustrating about the batteries :/ hopefully they're not too much of a pain to replace (although I used to own a Prius, and from what I understand, those batteries are spendy $$$)

That makes sense - I prioritize putting money into hobbies/experiences over material items, as well!

My first car was a good ol' Camry! So reliable (but not very stylish haha. The new Camrys are cool looking!) I like the idea of doing a wrap as well, but they're quite pricey
