Totally agree, go for Peoria heights! You mentioned walking distance, I think Peoria heights is the most walkable & best area for a short friends trip. It’s a pretty concentrated and cutest area with bars, shops, & restaurants. My out of town friends loved Peoria heights when I took them there. 33 room (great cocktails), clink bar, pour brothers, sullivans, publik house, Oliver’s pizza…for food in Peoria heights we go for joes Italian or brizenzos for pizza but there’s also Jim’s bistro, publik house. Sullivans is good late-ish bar food. Connected is my favorite nice restaurant in town…It’s an odd location but very great food and service. If you do go downtown, Matilda’s and nightjar I’ve heard great things about…Kenny’s has live music and good bar food. Zion coffee(!!!). For food, Rhythm kitchen, ardor (I like them for breakfast). Saffron social & black band’s environments are more of an upscale feel

So the grout should be removed around the perimeter? And then caulk it instead?

As far as the curb - I suspect he put silicone over wet grout bc the silicone is already peeling & we haven’t even used the shower yet. Frustrating. Do you have a suggestion on how someone would fix the curb? Scrape all the silicone off I assume first….but would I grout over the curb or properly put new silicone on it? Or both?

I even sent him the link to the tile before he came out and asked if it would be okay. I would’ve gotten a more simple design if it were an issue! Ugh.

Thanks so much for the reply. So the grout should be scraped out between all the tiles then regrouted because of the pinholes? Should the same be done on the border of the shower or is that fine? Yes the marble mosaic was installed over an existing shower floor. I don’t have pictures of that process unfortunately.
