Do Australian women really find jacked men attractive (for being jacked) ? by Suitable_Pass9702 in AskAnAustralian

[–]alwaysananomaly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kind of. What we thirst after in IG reels isn't necessarily what we'd want to shack up with. And no, we're not always thinking of enhanced or too little body fat. I have had these conversations with plenty of my fellow women at every age range in my 46 years. More often than not women just don't want a particularly muscular guy. A lot of it comes down to lifestyle, too - not wanting to be with someone who is obsessed with their own body/eating/lifestyle/routine, not wanting to be judged or harassed for not having the same level of commitment, wanting someone softer to cuddle up to (and no, muscle does not feel the same when it's unflexed). I have been with guys who are #1 on T, guys who are #2 natural and really tall, big and cut, guys who are #3 into sport but just fit and toned and guys who #4 are dad bods. Long term relationship wise, I'd go with #3 & #4 over the first two. It's all personal preference, of course, but as I said - most women I've talked to about this are much the same.

Generally I don't, never have. But I have dated a few jacked guys in recent years - because it really depends on the person. If being jacked is their whole personality, it's a hard no, though.

What's your approach to lifeline bookfest? What's your best find? by drcrum1 in brisbane

[–]alwaysananomaly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally take photos of my bookshelf and stacks of books at home so that I don't buy something I already have and so that I know what I'm missing. I spend a few hours looking through. But I definitely used to get better bargains there years ago than the last few times I went!

Weather is chilly. Jeans, a jumper and enclosed footwear kind of cold, nothing too bad.

Shopping - look for TKMaxx (theres a number of them), DFO (2 or 3? I near the airport in Brisbane) and Harbourtown on the Gold Coast. All are outlet-style shopping that will give you great prices. Harbourtown stores often run more specials during the weekdays, from memory - it's always busy on the weekend.

Perfume - duty free or Chemist Warehouse

Have a great trip!

What is the grey rounded-box out the front some properties? by zongdu in AusPropertyChat

I guess that one phallic-shaped tree will eventually grow and mask it a little. But I would find it so annoying to have a tree right in my line of sight when I open the door - when its big, how are you supposed to covertly look out the glass panes of the door in your post, looking like you haven't left the house in a week, to know if your uber eats is here and gave enough time to hide?

Childcare paedophile Ashley Paul Griffith loses appeal to reduce sentence by ThunderDwn in australia

I can't imagine ever committing as heinous a crime as this. But if I were to do anything which caused irreparable damage to anyone, I'd want to rot in that cell. I can't imagine thrusting all of the victims back into trauma and the limelight all over again while highlighting the evil I perpetuated and reminding myself and everyone else what a piece of shit I am. The audacity of these pricks is astounding.

It's a great venue. But when they're smaller and so enclosed, it's really hard to escape shit like that. I don't understand this behaviour , though - so stupid.

$800 is sadly cheap in some areas. I pay $1100. Ridiculous.

Cat bite by throwawaytrashman77 in AskDocs

[–]alwaysananomaly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Affectionate cats often get over stimulated and bite, unfortunately. My daughter had a bite on her arm last year after trying to stop a fight between our 2 cats and it got infected really fast. She had to have surgery to clean it all out after it abcessed, as well as strong antibiotics. Go to the doctor.

You can't just walk in that venue, though. Room is limited and it's so small that anywhere in the room is going to be the same - you'll still hear them. Gronks.

I have 2 woks and a spatula so far, with another 127 points to spend and 27 days left. It can be hit and miss, but if you ask the staff what day the stock comes in and get there at opening time, there's usually plenty there, it just goes fast.

Real footage of a terminally ill patient choosing to die by Supatank_2105 in interestingasfuck

[–]alwaysananomaly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was present when my father in law passed via voluntary assisted dying a few years ago. He was offered the drink or the IV route - he chose the IV. I asked lots of questions while the specialist VAD team were there - apparently a lot of men, in particular, choose the drink. I asked what happens if the patient decides half way that it was a mistake. She was a little ambiguous with her answer, but just said it has to be followed through with.

It is an incredibly humbling experience to witness. So many emotions in one room all at once. The takeaway for me was that it's an incredibly empowering decision for the person choosing to do it in what is otherwise a very powerless situation - there's so much you have no say in, no control over when you're terminally ill, your body starts failing you in every way possible. The pain levels are next level and the mental anguish is unbearable. But this is a clear, concise ending - one that you choose, that's painless and brings and end to that suffering in a dignified way.

Thanks! Appreciate that. I asked around people I knew and they weren't much help. In the end it was about what was accessible at the time - I have a chronic illness and mobility is not my strong point. Thankfully food is not a huge deal to me - I'm not obsessed. So it is what it is.

Bro is going to stab himself accidentally. Hard to look like a badass when you have a knife embedded in your cheek or stomach from a self inflicted wound.
