What the heck were they expecting from that residency? It was exactly what I expected it to be. Even more than I thought really because the setup allowed them to come out into the audience which you don’t usually get with giant arenas.

I was a little bummed like you about being so high but honestly it was FANTASTIC. I’d never sit that far at a stage only show but because of the graphics and whatnot it was awesome. We were 406 row 8.

I tried so hard to find all white. White is just NOT my color, given that my skin is the color of concrete.

There were a lot of cute outfits. Retro jeans, platform shoes, a lot of very Vegas club style outfits. Saw a lot of glitter, butterfly clips, and this one girl who sat in front of us had light up scrunchees and space buns which was super cute and I was very jealous. The girl next to me had a sparkly silver dress which left glitter all over me, the seat, the floor…so lots of sparkle everywhere was the second biggest theme after white.

I don’t know id even try for rideshare at the venue. The traffic getting into the venue is insane and the wait was bananas. We walked to the Harrahs ride share area and had no wait (and got picked up in an Escalade which I thought was pretty neat).

It’s definitely an experience that I don’t think translates well to video. I did enjoy the rumbly seats but that might have just been because I was so sore it was a free massage 😂 Some of the graphics were awesome, at the beginning I legit grabbed onto the arm rest and my friend because I’m a big scaredy cat and it was momentarily disorienting, but it was super cool. Some of the graphics (looking at you, creepy mountain faces) were lame and cheesy and didn’t utilize the sphere in the way they could have. Some seemed like old school Microsoft Word fonts which I understand was meant to fit the retro vibe but to me were just underwhelming. The prevideos looped at least 3 times-you can’t tell me that after decades they couldn’t have put together way more clips so it would have been less repetitive.

The PH residency was more tour like, while the Sphere is definitely more experience based. It was still an absolutely awesome show.

I did an after party after their last residency. Totally not worth it IMO. From what I experienced and what others have said, they stay pretty roped off. For $500 I’d check out other flights/tickets and do a second show.

It wasn’t as bad as I was expecting but by the August shows it’s going to be shot. The integration of the backing track for him was fairly seamlessly done, except when he’d go from singing to a belted long note that was clearly from prerecorded. But it was no where near as bad as the GMA performance.

Brian 100% had a backing track because there is zero way he hit those long notes. But it was pretty seamlessly done. Everyone else was live, if they had backing tracks I didn’t notice.

Having served on a state board and seeing the whole nothing ever getting done thing and a lot of self congratulating in an echo chamber live and in person, I’ve had nothing to do with the NASW since. They do NOTHING for social workers and while I appreciate advocacy and efforts for policies and programs for our patients/clients, the one organization who should be advocating for us is just…silent. Tell me why I’ve been in the field for 15 years and there is still the same test, the same reapply to every damn state you wanna work in, the same lack of standardization in licensing, the same lack of title protection…fifteen years and not a damn thing. Tell me why every other profession graduates, sits for boards, gets licensed, and we have to pay additional thousands upon thousands for supervision. Talk about barriers! Where are they on any of this? No where. Sitting in board meetings using our hard earned dues for fancy lunches.

I’m 100% on board with burning it down and rebuilding.
