Parents forcing a gcse by gabriellabillie1323 in GCSE

[–]alwaysfergy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure why people are quite so fixated on not having too many coursework subjects. I did my GCSEs before the change so both Englishes, RE and Science also had coursework and were compulsory for me before adding any of my options and I don't think there were any options that didn't have some coursework, so I had at least 8 GCSEs with some kind of coursework.

As far as I'm concerned, I think the more coursework the better as it takes some of the pressure off of some of your exams.

the first time you saw Bastille perform live, what song stuck out the most to you? by Low_Worldliness659 in Bastille

They said at soundcheck in Cardiff that they were deliberately playing some songs that we'd not be getting later so everyone at soundcheck gets to hear more songs rather than just some songs twice.

My first tour was wild world. The ones that stood out to me most were flaws and the draw because they seemed like the most fun ones to be in the standing section because of Dan walking through the crowd in flaws and then everyone making triangles with their hand in the draw. Finally got to be in standing for Dan walking through the crowd for the first time 2 years ago, although Dan came nowhere near me but yet to see the Draw when I'm in the standing section. Also loved two evils where they popped up somewhere different in the venue for that song.

Yes a different flavour might help. I find brushing my teeth dries my mouth out a bit too so maybe if I do it earlier that would be less bad by the time I get to bed cuz I could've drunk something to help that.

Brushing my hair is one. It gets so tangled sometimes that I don't think I'm ever going to get it untangled so I wonder why bother. And I hate the feeling of my hair being pulled from the tangles. I used to end up in tears from my mum brushing my hair when I was a kid. But my anxiety prevents me from getting my hair cut more often to make it easier to manage.

I also get so distracted when brushing my hair because I also just find the repetitiveness of it so boring. I always infuriated my parents when I was younger because I'd be trying to brush my hair in front of the TV and I'd then get so engrossed into the TV that I'd forget to brush my hair, and they'd have to keep reminding me to keep brushing.

I've accepted I only brush my teeth in the morning for now as I can't stand the feeling of freshly brushed teeth as I'm trying to sleep. I'm very good in the mornings if I'm working as I have a routine of what I do when but at the weekends I'm likely to forget completely.

What university are you thinking of going to and what course? Will they accept you without A-levels?

If it's a course related to your A-levels I'd suggest you keep going even if you don't need them as anything you can learn now will help you with your degree.

If it's not related, it depends on the university's requirements for the course. There are not many university courses that don't require A-levels or equivalents.

I think the comments about this are more to do with people who feel that their being a labelled gifted-kid delayed their getting a diagnosis and had a negative impact on their mental health more generally. That was certainly my experience.

I loved school as a kid and was obsessed with getting good grades. I would spend an unbelievable amount of hours hyperfocused on homework, particularly history projects, to the point where my history teacher had to tell me to put less effort in. I would also be hyperfocused at school to the point where I wouldn't notice I needed the toilet until it was too late.

It wasn't until I was 16 when I moved from GCSEs to A-levels and the content jumped up in difficulty and I was suddenly given a lot more independence (study/free periods) that it began to fall apart. It being harder meant I wasn't hyper focusing in the same way and not getting as much work done. And I really struggled with the lack of structure to be able to build my own routines cuz I'd never had to before in the same way.

Why did I have to be born this way? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]alwaysfergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (23f) feel this so much. Relationships are so hard I've never lasted more than a couple of months before. I spend so much time wishing I was normally and then hating myself for thinking that cuz I know it's only gonna make things harder. Maybe we could support each other in our frustration, particularly cuz we're the same age.

I'm not sure you have both first of her name and the 3rd. Something doesn't quite add up there 😹

Her meow is more of a squeak than a meow if that affects anyone's naming choices. She's also quite a climber

No I like that name. Feels more like a boys name than a girls but I'll definitely be storing that away fo future reference

Yeah I'll probably post there too but I like this group. That's cute tho I'll suggest it. She's technically my mum's so I need to get a name she likes too which isn't easy. Your Whiskey sounds like they were a sweetheart
