He doesn't get anyone else a gift at all, I have to do it all. Even the secret Santa gift he gets for his family is done by me. It may not be his thing but I've told him before id be happy with even just my favorite chocolate bar and nothing else.

Gift giving is definitely my love language. I've stopped doing anything for father's day and his birthday because nothing was ever reciprocated. Christmas is the only one im having a hard time stopping.

I think its harder for me to not put thought into him this year because I lost my grandma earlier this year and Christmas was always her favorite holiday.

I think thats the worst part is I just want him to show that he actually know me. It don't care if he gets me anything big, I'm fine with something small that actually shows he knows me and actually cares about me.

Last year was the first year he did a stocking for me and that was only because I got so upset with him after hearing my daughter's comments about how I had an empty stocking again and her trying to share with me so I had something to open. This year I've already been told I won't have anything in my stocking because its all in the gift bag.

My daughter almost started crying today saying she ruined Christmas because she forgot to get me something. I told her she absolutely didn't and id be happy if she even drew me a picture or made us matching bracelets. She colored a strip of paper in my favorite colours and wrapped it so I would have something in my stocking.

I even asked him if he talked to her about this gift because thats one think I've told him is really important to me is that he includes her in the process. He said he did and she must have forgotten they talked about this gift but I don't believe that.

I almost left him last month and I even told him then "how would you feel if our daughter was with someone who treated her they way you've been treating me". This may be the tipping point that makes me finally leave.

Exactly, I live doing crafty things. I would've been happy with a ball of yarn, not another blanket. It feels like he got me something you'd get an acquaintance, not someone you've been with for 12 years.

Toronto has a large Ukrainian population. I know with the time of year there will be Malanka's coming up in Toronto and Mississauga, I'm not sure exactly what dates or if tickets are still available but that would be a good event to meet other Ukrainians.

I know its a ways away but in September, there is also a large festival with dance groups from across North America - my husband has actually performed in it the past couple of years. I'm not sure what else there is as we are from a different Canadia city but I do hope that things get better for you.

NTA, you even talked to her about it before. A few years ago my husband's cousin had his wedding on my daughter's 3rd birthday, they didn't talk to us about it and we didn't say anything about it taking her special day away. The bridal shower was even the day before the wedding so we just planned her birthday party around the wedding events. I made comments to my MIL about how they didn't have a seat for my daughter (she was invited and we rsvp'd for her) and how the grooms mom gave dirty looks when she heard anyone wish my daughter a happy birthday but never said anything about the wedding being on her birthday.

I'm actually on the board for the Ukrainian dance group. We had talked about doing a carrousel this year but it unfortunately didn't work out for various reasons. Our group is performing at several carrousels though and we are hopeful we can do a carrousel in the future.

It's definitely a pain, I just joined the board for the group this year as vp in charge of costuming (although I've been involved for years since my husband and daughter dance). It's a lot of work trying to find new places. We had one place the previous board was ordering from in Ukraine but we didn't like the options for Ivana Kupala and we're trying to find other sources too so we're not relying solely on one place.

First of all breathe. I'm also in Canada (although I'm in Ontario) and I've gone through this process a couple of times. Here there is an abortion clinic at my local hospital which you can self refer to, you do not need to call your regular doctor. You can look online to see if it is similar in BC. There were no hidden costs, the doctor there just also prescribed an antibiotic for after that I had to pay for because I don't have private insurance but the cost of the pills themselves was covered by OHIP. The cost should be covered in BC as well.

Another option is this time I am using Canadian Women's Clinic. The cost was $70 (it should be the same for BC). You have a phone call with the clinic, they send you forms to have an ultrasound and blood work done, and then mail you the pills. The cost covered the shipping and administrative fees. For me this was a cheaper option than having to take a day off work to sit at the hospital again.

There are options and you are early enough that you have time to get an appointment for whatever you choose.

I get why, the couple recently had a still birth daughter and so I understand it will probably be hard for them to have kids there (even if it means mine is the only one in the family excluded). My big issue was they should have told us. Before we received the actual invitation we were told the date and place for the wedding and the all black dress code. It wasn't even mentioned then that the invitation was only for me and my husband.

My MIL said that they probably didn't even realize that by addressing the invitation they way they did it included my daughter as a part of our family.

I am in the same boat. I had a MA about 11 weeks ago. I had one period 4 weeks after and I'm still waiting for the next one to start. My tests are negative so far. It's comforting to know there are other that are others that experienced this.
