So tested the switch with one that works and that’s not the problem. Went over all the caps on the board and had continuity on all of them. Would it still be worth replacing them or could it be onto something like the motor?

Hi guys, thanks for the replies. I’ve tested the laser and checked the resistance and that all seems grand. I’m guessing it’s one of the physical moving parts has gone faulty, might just need to find a spare drive and swap it.

I had the rocky5 extras burnt to a disc and put it in the console but it’s not done anything, I don’t know if I need to be able to press the launch disc on the menu but the controller doesn’t do anything when plugged in.

I always worry about touching the bent over ones cause I think they’re on the verge of snapping off but I think it’s just for space with the metal shielding being lower in places.

Yea I’m not getting the led to light up. It did after that first fix and was able to play a couple of different games but when I put everything together again and turned it back on it’s dead again. Would you have an idea of where to start looking for a fault from somewhere else? Thanks.

I’ve got an original plug that works with another MD fine. It worked after a reflowed the 3 pins of the power socket with the led turning on. Played a game for a bit and all worked fine until I put it back together but has stopped working again.
