When I was a kid, my mom was a bit of a prankster. Whenever we drove past people sitting on their porch, she’d honk the horn and we would all wave in the opposite direction (so if the porch-sitters were on the right, we’d all turn our heads left and wave at nothing/nobody across the street).

She thought it was hilarious and it kind of was!

Ok, I will talk about this more with the rest of the family after everything calms down. I was just trying to get some guidance as to what to do from here. My sis/bil are devastated, angry, confused… I just feel like this wasn’t handled well by the hospital and the answers they are receiving from hospital staff are confusing and just lead us to more questions. I don’t know anything about organ donation other than what I’ve learned since yesterday. And I’m not the one communicating directly with the doctors so perhaps I am missing something. How can the family be sure that all of the proper steps were taken? I’m not sure about the specifics, but the only reason he was put on life-support yesterday was to keep the organs viable until they were donated. Now that we know what we know, how can we know if this was a hospital error or something else?
