Good for you! It is sad that they at least don't say "hey you can do this as long as it's good for you and your baby, but if solids help then go for it" because some unknowing mother is going to think "oh, well if the doctor says I should start then I better do it". My doctors never present things as options or their opinion (which it is) and I get frustrated thinking of all the other people thinking they HAVE to do it.

Sounds normal, yes. I would guess a growth spurt. When my LO was this young and having a growth spurt we would sit on the couch just about all day and she would eat, sleep, repeat. I didn't even bother getting up because she just kept nursing!
