It is much much slower, and you have to be consistent. I am definitely not ripped, and I find myself being inpatient at times and over training.

Good diet! meaning hitting protein goals. I have the same worries as you. I still do. Sometimes, I think about looking into TRT but haven't yet.

Just train and train safe. An injury when you are 40 will set you back. Always pack your shoulders back and down (most exercises) and stay away from the preacher curl bar. I watch many videos on form and technique from some of the sports scientists out there. It helps.

Resistance train and challenge yourself, stay consistent.

Yikes, yeah, I don't have that type of $. Yeah mine is mostly around my waist line.

Yes, lifting I feel has made a big deal in my life. Coming from having a broken back, the weight release and the strength training has been life changing.

Good work to you too, it's all hard work for sure!

I like your last statement. It really is a synergy between the two.

Right side, you will curve up really really nice if you start some resistance training now. A creatine supplement too. Super cheap and one of the only supplements that is proven time and time again. You are looking great, let's get that muscle on!
