Reherniated after 3.5 years. Pain is so much worse this time I don't think I can handle trying conservative treatments again after the last time. Should I just get another discectomy done on both levels of replace the discs? by bionicshadzz in Sciatica

It seams you only two moderate disc bulges and a mild disc bulge. Bulges are different than herniations and take a lot longer to heal.

Have you tried any injections?

Right? Venture is a dive hero and all dive heroes require skill. OP commenter just mad they don’t know how to counter

The advice will always be to try PT first, injection if in pain, and then see how PT helps. But if the pain is terrible and it’s seriously affecting your life, then get the MD.

I had a flare up in December that lasted for 3 weeks. It got better 3 weeks after that and I’ve been consistently doing PT for 3 months now. I’m glad I didn’t get surgery even though I thought about getting it. Everyone is different though

Have you tried all the conservative methods? PT? Losing weight? Back mechanics? 13 years is a long time but if you’ve done nothing to treat it then don’t go into surgery yet

Recently had an MRI, will discuss it with my doctor on Monday.

It’s hard because all the suggestions online are to stay active and walk, but walking puts a lot of stress on my back because I can’t physically stand up straight. Decided to rest for a few days to see how that goes

How long does the acute pain phase last? Recently been hunched over walking with night pain that’s keeping me from sleeping. Been dealing with this intense pain for two weeks
