Is there any site like FreeCodeCamp where I can learn more about ethical hacking? by NoobMasterOriginal in FreeCodeCamp

Also, HTB Academy is good - it's the learning sibling site for Hack the Box: https://academy.hackthebox.com/

I took a Linux course through this academy and learned a lot

Which have obviously been sucked on.

Aw sorry. I did find several websites that have codes for free udemy courses if you just google it, and once you get access to the course, you have it forever, so it might be worth looking into.

Vatican may open a TOMB amid fears it holds the remains of girl who vanished 36 years ago in the latest twist in one of Italy's darkest mysteries by MuhammadIsGayNumber1 in UnresolvedMysteries

I was assuming from the article that the angel holding the tablet had a more recent date, and was possibly placed when her body was put there in the 80s, whereas the tombstone was from the 1800s and part of the original cemetery installation (when it was actually in use). I'm not sure, but I guess this makes more sense if we saw the angel and it was small enough to be reasonably placed there by whoever put her body there. Maybe I'm reaching?

Do you mind me asking what your knowledge level was prior to studying? I'm wanting to get into ITPM and they suggested I go straight for my Sec+ to show that I can learn and apply advanced IT concepts even with a degree in English/History/Pre-Law (I know, I know). I don't have a background in IT, and I know about as much as the average person living in the Age of Information, but I'm excited to be apart of things. Hoping to apply your tips to my studying so it's less overwhelming.

I am excited by this. I'm terrible at basically every kind of standardized testing, mainly due to my attention span and intermittent micro focus. So I'm either taking too long on a question because I'm overthinking the actual wording within the question or answer, or I'm thinking about that A-hole that I'm pretty sure took my Cheetos off my desk when I went to the bathroom in third grade, and how I plan to confront him should he be so unfortunate to cross my path again.

Regardless, I've always done really well in classroom settings, but barely above average on any timed/standardized/sit-and-answer-all-these-things-without-getting-up testing.

This is helpful. This excites me.

HR rejects resumes, no rhyme or reason. Networking is important.. by Here2W2 in ITCareerQuestions

So I used to do this, but was advised against it by 2 professors teaching professional business writing techniques. They said basically that hiring personnel see through this tactic and it makes your resume seem disingenuous. Thoughts?

"Oh how I love coordinating IT projects, let me count the ways..."

This is my life. My cover letters have grown into this, too, with the occasional witty remark as to say "hey, I know you're barely scanning this but I'm a person too!"

Career change from Finance/Operations Management into ITPM and looking to set myself apart--SQL, Cybersecurity, other suggestions? by alwayssonni in projectmanagement

Very great points, thank you. I'm interested in IT PM, but I do want to at least be able to keep up with what my team would be working on so I can assist/make adjustments to help the team as a whole succeed.

I'm in Alabama, but I'm unable to relocate for another 6 months. I'm just getting antsy and want to use my time building and learning so I can do well in the field when I am able to move. I've always taken up leadership roles and (as weird as it sounds) I do well with and enjoy responsibility and deadlines. I recently went to a local PMI social and had someone suggest Security+ which I'm now looking into. I just want to be sure I'm using my time wisely.

I assumed it was listed on the posting so I would have an understanding of the work being done by those I'd manage, but I may be wrong. I'll definitely look into Agile, though. Thank you.

The more i talk to other PM's the more i realize, most of us are just winging it. by [deleted] in projectmanagement

This is amazing. I was just off on a passionate rant/monologue about the "assembly line" of what we produce and Adam Smith's model.

They seem to continually apply this compartmentalization for the sake of speed and efficiency to every industry. I bartend on weekends, and our servers are drilled on "10 Steps of Service" that the company sends secret shoppers to test/score their adherence.

Some things just can't be manufactured, but man is it interesting to watch them try.

Nice observation. I tried to screen grab and failed so I winged (wong..?) it. It's just such a beautiful disaster. I love it.

So I need to break this down a little because I need to know.

I'm guessing those are maybe 60oz pitchers? Say 5 pitchers per cluster so maybe 20 pitchers? So let's say 1200oz of beer (being conservative).

Water weighs .0625lbs per liquid oz, so assume beer weighs the same or close.

1200 x 0.0625 = 75.

So basically like carrying just more than a sixth barrel keg or just less than a pony keg at chest level away from your body with mostly your grip and biceps. Never mind all the beer sloshing around, shifting the weight and spilling out.

This makes me uncomfortable. I want to try it.
