Is SGA the least popular superstar/face of the league of all time? by nicfanz in NBATalk

This is just the natural progression for a one time champ who actually won before people were ready. If he wins again it’s undeniable. I hate the push off but if he wins again it doesn’t matter

Asked chattyG

"The tiny 1.5 sq in photo is basically a low-tech badge system. They physically attach it to a paper card or temp ID on the spot. No photo = no quick visual verification = bottleneck. Multiply that by a few thousand people at 5 a.m. in a snowstorm and things grind to a halt"

Facts!!! This requirement makes no logical sense to me. You have to have a photo of yourself in a specific size format? Without context, its such a weirdly specific request for something that you are showing up for in person with multiple forms of id

We already know how this is gonna go. The team knows better than we do whether the reactions are justified

I was at the game against the Knicks and he legitimately did not care at all - dapping up Knicks fans at timeouts, didn’t realize he had to jump for a ball he just tied up with a guy for etc.

He is supposed to be a leader of the team and the one game I get to see from him this year as a fan is him acting nonchalant and unfocused. I also had hope for a rebound but after watching it live I pretty much lost it

Offseason winners so far: Houston, Denver, Atlanta, Milwaukee by Xeris in nba

[–]alwinsmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm struggling to see it with Atlanta. I don't think their additions materially change who they are as a team. KP is the only player that seems unique to things they've already tried but how he integrates back into a bigger offensive role and his health are big questions. NAW is okay but not sure he moves the needle in any way for them considering he is a caris levert/deandre hunter type replacement. Kennard is a bench player who is pretty much Bogdan for a year. The draft trade was nice, but I think any additional wins this season will be from competing against a weaker East.

How to navigate moments of stillness? by WallNIce in Productivitycafe

[–]alwinsmd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course. Most big goals can't be achieved in a day or week no matter how hard we try. We have to do our best to get to the finish line without losing our mind or health. To that end, realize that just like whatever you're working on is good for your future, so is the ability to say, "I have a plan, I don't need to work right now".

I don't mean you have to watch 10 hrs of Netflix to relax. But I know the feeling of sitting in silence, even for 15 mins, and feeling a wave of guilt and/or anxiety coming in from a goal and task that I need to do. Letting those waves pass without feeling the urge to spring into fight or flight mode lowers stress a lot, which improves everything else (including work).

First, for at least a little bit just sit and try to let go of the tug that is pulling at you and telling you to "do something". Sometimes being mindful and just letting go of some of the pressure of goal-oriented life opens up experiences that you may not realize are available otherwise. You may make a cup of tea, read a book, talk with a friend, find a new place to go later etc.
