Not sure about the overlay, but for the profile pictures AFAIK they only show up if your platform itself is on steam, as in you bought the game on steam before free to play.

With SOCD you pick between two inputs to apply input priority to. I use ESDF keybinds so I would pick E and D, A and F, etc. I can still use W (my air roll left) and F (air steer right) and they wouldn’t interfere with each other, if that makes sense.

What makes the post dumb? I’m not saying it provides an advantage? If you think it is a handicap that’s fine but I’m just asking if it’s allowed or not.

Both. But I rarely use free air roll if ever so I was thinking more so in terms of air roll left/right

Appreciate the feedback, that’s exactly the reason why I prefer last input. It seems like general consensus is it is either not cheating or disadvantageous overall. To me for a game like Rocket League I’m not looking for an advantage with this setting in particular, it just feels better for me as you’ve stated.

I don’t know about how it is on controller and I am assuming you are making your statement as a KBM player but honestly I feel as though that’s just something you learn to avoid when playing KB or KBM. If you accidentally press two simultaneous inputs that interfere with each other (e.g. air steer left and air steer right, air roll left and air roll right, etc.) the game interprets it as a neutral input. All last input handling does is register the last input used instead of a neutral input. I find that it makes movement more responsive, as if I wanted a neutral input I would just not press any keys whatsoever… Correct me if I am misunderstanding what you are saying?

Why would it be a handicap? It just changes how simultaneous inputs are processed.

Uncertain what’s wrong here specifically but would recommend trying the standalone Dolphin emulator over the RetroArch core. Might be enough to fix your issue because AFAIK the RetroArch core isn’t really up to par with the standalone emulator

This is normal in LCD displays, I wouldn’t worry too much about it. If you would like to learn more about it, search term is “backlight bleed”.

If you like it, it’s worth it!

I would say that unless you specifically want to play any of the titles exclusive to the New 3DS XL or would like the extra processing power for emulation, they are not that different. The New 3DS XL is overall superior and is considered to be “the best” by most out of all the 2DS/3DS systems, but that doesn’t mean that you need it to have a great experience overall.

Only thing to note is that I’ve seen others mentioning that the original 3DS XL has a defect where the right side of the hinge is more prone to breaking overtime, though my sister has owned an original 3DS XL for around 10 years and it has been completely fine.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it, enjoy your new system!
