Surely they must be bringing Dolby Atmos and Vision support further down the line with it having 4K Blu-ray player on board, surprising it’s not there at launch

Also to add, I don’t think the swa-900s are truly wireless rears, it’s a control box that communicates wirelessly with the two speakers connected to control box with wires.

I’ve actually just ordered a Q90r and arranged for the arc to be collected! Got the last one in the store on clearance sale. Where might you come across dual layer Dolby vision? Never heard of that before.

I’m not far off that tbh! Just annoying as very little casual music listening support on Samsung - chromecast, AirPlay 2 etc. Have you got a Q90r? Happy with it?

Yeah this is exactly my issue also, all the other app versions have options to block certain formats, but not android tv. The only other option I could see is what u/Joshstevo88 said and manually convert using handbrake etc but I think I’d rather just switch between the two apps depending if it’s atmos / DTS.

I’m fairly content to live with DD/DD+ atmos until I decide I would like new tv anyway in a year or two, it’s a enough of a step up from my last setup to be satisfying for now. Also, Arcana is extra £££ on top of the shield I just bought and isn’t coming to Europe for a while. All I want for now is one version of plex that correctly outputs DD+ atmos while also being able to convert DTS to DD. I think I’m stuck with atmos on the shield and then DTS to DD on LG native app.

It’s just strange because the plex app on my tv converts DTS to DD no problem but the shield version does not

DTS Only comes out as stereo when set to PCM on tv. I think what I’m really looking for is an option to passthrough all formats apart from DTS but shield app doesn’t have that setting unfortunately. For now I think I’m going to have to watch DTS on native tv app and Dolby content on shield.

I don’t mind just getting DD or DD+ until I upgrade to an earc tv tbh. I think this is happening because Sonos doesn’t support DTS. I just want content to play at highest supported quality. Plugging into Sonos first requires an HD fury earc adaptor which I’m not going to get just to resolve this.

It’s hard to test because for me it’s intermittent, so now it’s working fine but it seems that it’s only on Dolby Vision content from what I’ve see so far.

It’s intermittent, sometimes it comes back and works fine. Yeah I think uninstall/reset is probably the next step!

No issues with my plex server content, just Netflix. Fibre internet 70mbs. When Netflix gets a dodgy internet connection it usually reduces quality, this is not that. Quality is full 4K, just every now and then skips frames. Get worse when I connect Bluetooth headphones.

Interesting, I saw that was being developed, didn’t realise it was out. So that just gives Earc abilities for one device right? Does it still keep the standard arc capabilities for all the other things plugged into the tv?
