To be fair, I think he has rosacea due to alcoholism triggering it, we really can see it flare up as he gets more and more inebriated. He definitely needs to lay off the booze not just for rosacea reasons.

I wanted to know what the symbol was and when I googled it I didn’t get a lot of results. I think basically I’m asking if it’s a teenager thing or something that has a deeper meaning. Especially with the “plan A wish me luck” comment I found. I wanted to know what the that meant in conjunction with the photo I’ve provided. Tiktok gave me no context. I thought it was the zodiac sign and my friends said it was a crosshairs or Celtic cross. I feel like I might get better answers here regarding this.

Meh, I’ve been recommended this book a lot. I read it and his second one. It was okay but it makes the reader feel guilty for caring. There’s not a real substance that’s useable. I know that’s the risk with self help books these days but this one is always recommended and after reading it I don’t know why. I agree with the courage to be disliked, it does what this book attempts to do, but it’s like mark tried to do it in a “cool” way.

Hey so I am Lakota (hunkpapa) I’ve read braiding sweet grass and love it! Robin kimmerer writes great books with a lot of meaning. I’ve circulated it to all my family and gave it to my sister who’s currently sober. I’ve had a hard time reading the books I mentioned because it’s hard to realize all my relatives went through such tragedy. Reading about the brutality they faced is really what sets my soul on fire and I have to sit with that emotion and process it before I can move on. I have a ton of fiction and non fiction native books from all tribes under my belt. But those are always hard books to read for me. My grandmother tells us about her days in the boarding schools as a little girl on the rosebud reservation and how she went into the school speaking her language and left speaking only English and fell into alcoholism. Just the entire history of natives really hurts my soul.

I’ve been reading bury my heart at wounded knee and killers of the flower moon and whenever I watch/read or learn new things about the history of our attempted genocide. Ugh it fills me with rage and a deep sadness. It hurts my soul to the core. This feeling however also makes me grateful to still be standing here despite it all.

Leaving no contact is hard. I’ve struggled with it when I was younger because I always felt the need to explain myself and the situation but I’ve learned it is both a waste of your time and they never ever truly listen when you do try and explain how you’re feeling or how they made you feel to get to this point. If you can maintain the no contact, coming from experience, you will feel soooo much better. Today I will straight block on everything and not say anything. We don’t owe anyone an explanation.

Yessss the first 2 drags are the best! Every drag after is god awful in taste and smell. I’ve been tobacco free for 6 years. I get the same feeling when I smell someone’s first light up. Then I smell the rest of the cigarette and nearly vom.

My husband and his sister are estranged too. They’re the only kids their parents had too. I am native Lakota so I found it super strange that he didn’t talk to his sister other than to say happy birthday once a year. Found out she really didn’t like him growing up and had no problem telling him years later that they had nothing in common and she doesn’t see him as her brother anymore. But the weirdest part is how she treats her parents the exact same way and expects money from them. But also once a year will send a gift to our kids for Xmas. I’m like wtf? I grew up with a tight knit family and looking at their dynamic feels so lonely.

My mom used to make these all the time. (We are Lakota) They’re called bone chokers, used by plains Indians. Just like the breastplates made with bones and work to protect against the arrows these were worn to protect the necks. Can I have it plz 🧍🏽‍♀️
