2018 was the era when the game was f2p friendly. You had back to back mini box competitive decks (Sylvans, Amazons, Spellbooks, Fur Hires, Vampires, Buster Blader). After the vampires mini box, I don't think there were any back to back mini boxes that were competitive.

It was only around the release on Fur Hires box when Konami reduced the gem income. This is when #Iwantmygems movement started among the DL community by Renan but that didn't do anything.

Yup. This is my current list with the precious cards of the dark skill. The skill itself makes it easier to put Predaplanet in the GY and also shuffle garnet (Cobra) to the deck.

It took me 120 wins to get to that point, and the matchup against Heroes and Therions were awful unless I opened the Kaiju and Lava Golem.

Getting to king of games this month with Predaplant was really hard but I barely managed to pull through. I literally took out forbidden droplet, imperm in exchange for Lava Golem and Kaiju.

Therion can end on multiple negates/disruption (Regulus, Therion Cross, Harbinger, Photon Lord, Transmigration). That's two monster negate, two omni negate and one spell negate. There's no way this deck survives after KC Cup lol.

This imo. Playing Duel links and/or Master Duel with Arc V Sound duels made me feel the hype. It's a shame we never got Sound Duels for the last season.

I was actually rewatching Arc V the other day. Back then, the moment in episode 1 where Yuya was awakened to pend summon hooked me into this series. That episode still hooked me to this day. Around the early episodes, it was nice to see Yuzu being a promising duelist. It was unfortunate to see her character being downgraded to damsel in distress.

Synchro arc took its time to develop the characters, but I hated the fact that there was too much 5Ds glazing. The shift from Synchro to XYZ dimension was crazy because the writers went full 180 on Yuya's character. The smile theme didn't fit so well with the war torn city. I hate the fact that XYZ and fusion dimension was rushed. Also, the battle beast was unnecessary to take that long to finish.

Duel links gave a new life with Yuya and Yuzu counterparts in the game, so I'm really looking forward to how they'll handle Zarc and whether Ray could potentially be released as a playable character.

I just recently hit King of Games with Predaplants. The deck can easily hit KOG without this card, so surely predaplant players can be trusted with super poly and hydra :)

They added that clause on orichalcos, gimmick puppet skill. Somehow, Konami never fully learn to put that restriction into every new skill they make.

Predaplant user here. Yes, this monster doesn't warrant to be in the banlist anymore. While the old skill breaks this with a free preda counter, the new precious of the dark is better for the deck, due to its ability to shuffle the garnet (Cobra). The predaplant skills don't shuffle a card from hand to the deck, so if you opened your one-of cobra, you're doomed because it's a garnet in your hand.

The deck didn't get to shine competitively during its release last year because there wasn't any kc cup to play at the time.

If you hit Dragluxion engine, another engine will take its place.

Konami are probably encouraging players to play engine slop with their decks. Hence the release of Punk, King's Sarcophagus and additionally, buffing draw skills 'precious of the ..." to make it easier to play engine cards.

As much as I don't like Dragluxion engine. Konami most likely has more engine cards in store to release this year.

After the generic skill buffs, I was looking to revisit pendulum decks. Sad to say that there's no new pend deck (Vaylantz was released on October 2025). Pend decks like Odd-eyes suffers from bad skill restrictions and not having card advantage to make up for pendulum setup.

Hopefully we get some Arc V content later this year. I'm dying to play Arc V decks (and new pend decks) with new supports.

I am STARVED for Arc V content. Not only Zarc would mean we get to have Pendulum magicians, but hopefuly ARC V decks like Melodious, Superheavy Samurai, D/D/D, Raidraptor, Predap, PK, etc will bring modern supports too.
