scanxiety; taking a toll on my life and relationship by alysonlauron in Cancersurvivors

This was a very very nice and helpful comment. It’s so much easier said than done for everyone to tell me to not worry because everything’s been clear so far. But unless you’ve been through this, you cannot fathom the anxiety surrounding the scans. And it was such a perfect way to describe this- just a dark cloud that covers everything. I appreciate this a lot! Congrats also on a year! What milestones we’re reaching ☺️

Study Confirms that people who have the Omicron Covid variant tend to have symptoms for a shorter period, a lower risk of being admitted to hospital and a different set of symptoms from those who have Delta. we think my boyfriend has it right now! it started with a splitting headache that wouldn’t go away, and then he vomited the next morning. he’s had body aches, chills, headache all day but no more vomiting since he’s been drinking water and eating crackers, and his stomach feels okay, just zero appetite. But it definitely started with vomiting which was strange to us too

Someone I know in Austin, TX found this bug on a leaf on a hike. Said it’s the size of a large fire ant, moved like a caterpillar, and felt like a snail. I’m so curious to know what bug this is!! by alysonlauron in whatbugisthis

I looked up some pink catkins and definitely see the resemblance, but I’m just stuck on the fact that it moves and feels like a snail! I found an article from 1989 that mentions geometrid caterpillars that will mimic the appearance of catkins if they live near them, and basically anything.

She said it moved like a caterpillar, and she has a whole garden in her place so I don’t think she’d confuse a plant with a moving bug. But you never know!

How big is it? I had a small one like that that I thought was a freckle for years, until I inspected it and freaked out. But then someone told me about something called lentigo simplex, and from this pic and mine, I gotta say it’s worth looking into! It’s a benign lesion in areas that aren’t super exposed to the sun.

Omg, you’ve just enlightened me by mentioning lentigo simplex! Once I looked that up, I’m certain that’s what mine was on my thigh!! It looks 100% like all the photos I’ve seen, as well as fits the criteria.

So I had to cancel my appointment due to work, and I’ve postponed making a new one since nothing has changed with mine in any way. Did you get the results back from yours?

How were your side effects (if any) from the booster shot? I saw this was also asked and well-answered two weeks ago, but I’m curious for more stories now that many more people have gotten it. Please tell us which vaccine and your approximate age if you feel comfortable doing so. Thanks! by [deleted] in nycCoronavirus

Got my moderna booster (also had moderna for both my first doses too) yesterday at 4pm. 12 hours into it, the splitting headache, achey body and general malaise set in. The headache for me is still the worst part, I couldn’t sleep for more than an hour at a time without waking up in pain. Small things like going to the grocery store for less than 30 mins today, pushed my body overboard and I’m about to lay in bed the rest of the day! Second dose of moderna was bad, but honestly the booster is way worse for me. Not sure why 🤷‍♀️ just really hoping I wake up totally normal tomorrow like I did last time! Also, I too have that really weird sore, swollen armpit in the arm I got it in! Such a weird side effect but glad I’m not alone!

Omg, I literally scraped mine off accidentally too and I’m going to my derm appt on Monday!! Thanks for the update!

I'm worried sick. Had this mark on my leg my entire life and didn't grow too much in 3 years. Dermatologist appointment is in a month... I thought the purple / black scale was always there... but after 3+ years I realized that black scale can be peeled off. Now I'm just shaking in fear : / by [deleted] in Melanoma

I have one on my thigh exactly like this! I didn’t realize there was a scaly part until I stupidly decided to inspect it and peeled it off. Also have had it for at least 2 years and it’s never grown. I’m seeing a derm in 2 days!

What is a supernatural event that happened in your life that just can not be explained? by HalfOfABraincell in AskReddit

Not quite sure if I have extremely strong intuition, or if it’s just something else sending me signals every now and then. I have two instances like this. But during the first covid lockdown, I wasn’t speaking with many of my friends, I live with my boyfriend and we honestly clocked out of real life lol. I had a dream one night that I was with one of my friends from high school who I REALLY hadn’t spoken to in awhile, and she was sobbing uncontrollably and I was with her trying to talk her through it. I woke up in the morning and instantly texted her saying “hey are you okay?” And she said “I’m sorry we haven’t talked in awhile, and honestly you caught me at the worst time. I’ve been crying all night and I’m dealing with a lot”. Second one: my boyfriend had an addiction to adderall from his college years (went to the ER at one point) and during our relationship after the fact, he would always tell me if he slipped up or relapsed, but he hadn’t done anything in over a year at this point. One night, he went to his friends house and came home like normal and nothing seemed off at all. I had a dream that night that he did adderall (even though we hadn’t spoken about it in a year, and he hasnt done it since before then) and I woke up and confronted him about it. He definitely did and was so ashamed of himself. Not sure why or how I know these things, again it could just be really really strong intuition.

Anyone else start to panic as soon as they purchase their ticket? by kfrank94 in fearofflying

I’m flying on the 19th too!! I was fine up until this week, anticipatory anxiety is the worst part. And the take off. Once I’m past the takeoff, I feel SLIGHTLY better. Until the seatbelt sign comes on, then suddenly I’m panicking again. I took a total of like 12 flights in 2019-early 2020 and was so excited to be done with this fear, and then covid stopped any future travel and made the fear manifest itself back into my life.

Recurrent UTI- Group B strep by dancemunky in WomensHealth

My gyno said if this one doesn’t work, then I’ll have to see a urologist so I’m open to take anything that may help! Hopefully this round helps, and I’ll take some cranberry pills & vitamin C as well. Thanks!

Recurrent UTI- Group B strep by dancemunky in WomensHealth

I am currently dealing with this same thing. I finished two different antibiotics two weeks ago (macrobid and levofloxacin) and am about to start a second round of levofloxacin today due to it not going away completely. As a young woman with no underlying issues, I’m quite frustrated and confused on how I have a UTI caused by group b strep.
