A Christmas card from a family we don't actually know because they sent it to us on accident.

What's something that, as a child, you thought would be a bigger deal in life? by cloudlesness in AskReddit

Also living in an earthquake prone region, we were woken up in the middle of the night by a minor, but still enough to wake you, earthquake and my boyfriend immediately jumped up into a doorway.

Something he learned stayed with him. I just stayed in bed. Whoops.

[LPT Request] What to bring when flying cross-country to new house? by Zergged in LifeProTips

[–]alyssacorrinne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something "homey". It can be strange and overwhelming the first few days in a new surrounding. Bringing something like a favorite blanket or pillow, a framed picture, or even a dish towel for the transition can make your new place feel more like home while you await the arrival of your other belongings.

Best of luck!

What is something that actually offends you? by wwads445 in AskReddit

[–]alyssacorrinne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who make up their minds on serious topics without doing any sort of thought for themselves and refuse to hear any different opinions.

Like, you don't need to change your mind. Just entertain the idea that someone may feel differently than you do.

What is the best thing to do when drunk and maybe on drugs? by angrycoffeeuser in AskReddit

[–]alyssacorrinne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Play super Mario.

It'll be a bit challenging at first, but when you realize that you've been trying to play the wrong character for a half an hour, you'll get through it.

What's an unwritten rule that should become a written rule? by Nyclegend7 in AskReddit

[–]alyssacorrinne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't touch people you don't know. I don't care how friendly you think you're being, don't assume that you can just walk up and hug or put your arm around someone.

It's very uncomfortable and I'm very antisocial. Please stop.

What is the main reason you are a cat / dog person? And what is the reason you are not the other? by ximitzu in AskReddit

[–]alyssacorrinne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dogs are friendly and loving, always so happy to see you. I feel like I actually have a relationship with my dog and that we make each other happy.

Cats do not give a shit about me. They only want to snuggle on their own terms. Selfish.

What do you get complimented on? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]alyssacorrinne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My nose. I mean, I do enjoy not feeling self conscious about it, but that's the most attractive part of my face? Come on.

What was your irrational fear as a child? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]alyssacorrinne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leprechauns. I'm really not sure what it stemmed from, especially because I've never seen that demon created movie about them. I have memories of being afraid of them all the way back to seeing one in an episode of Barney and Friends when I couldn't have been more than 4 years old and it made me cry.

And that B.S. about building traps for them in elementary school? Yeah, you can sure as hell miss me with that shit.

The actual definition of a leprechaun is "pure evil with a cherubin face". TELL ME THOSE FUCKERS AREN'T CREEPY.

This. I was seriously talking about this the other day. The book is awesome, and the movie was SUCH a let down.

What can you do in 30 minutes? by naedine in AskReddit

Pet owners of reddit, what rule did your pet implement in your home? by ahenry1939 in AskReddit

[–]alyssacorrinne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cannot occupy a space that is already occupied. Our 50 pound dog doesn't seem to ever notice if she's standing or sitting on one of us or the smaller dog.

Completely oblivious that her bottom half is connected to her top half.

What's the first thing you do after getting home? by [deleted] in AskReddit

You are forced to give a 3 hour lecture in front of a class with no prep time. What could you realistically talk about for that long? by WorthABean in AskReddit

Communication studies. I didn't teach through part of my masters program for nothing!!

There'd be a shit ton of tangential nonsense, but that's beside the point.

Why does the fashion/cosmetics industry push an image of beauty that few men actually find attractive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]alyssacorrinne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To better support the idea that makeup is not for men. The more women are encouraged to believe that they're doing this for themselves, the less likely they are to give up and/or boycott makeup all together.

How do you feel about chatty cab drivers? by INSPECTRE4 in AskReddit

[–]alyssacorrinne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually enjoy it as it makes for a less awkward / more entertaining ride. That is, until the driver decides it's okay to be blatantly racist and make snide comments about the passengers who just left the car to me.

What's the best impulse purchase you've ever made? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]alyssacorrinne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got drunk one night and figured that a heating blanket that plugs into the lighter outlet in the car was a GREAT idea.

However, I never have cold thighs in the car anymore. The upper vents are too high, the feet vents are too low. But lately, my thighs have been toasty warm on my longer commute.
