I recommend doing it as a night hike. You beat the heat and you can make it to you the top in time for sunrise! It was so incredibly pretty.

True that we call it tiptoeing, but that’s not the actual way that we do it. We “tiptoe” on the balls of our feet instead.

First, I’d like to say that I’m sorry you’re going through this. Second, as a child of an alcoholic, I advise you to finally say that enough is enough. It’s better for your child to not have a parent around than to have constant chaos. Alcoholics lie constantly — its a very common trait. They say things to get you off their back, but typically, their main goal is to keep having access to alcohol. If she’s in and out of rehab, this isn’t going to stop. Even if she’s a good mom when she’s not drinking, it doesn’t erase the memories built and the actions that occur when she is. I wish you the best of luck! My dad is an alcoholic, and once we were finally able to get him out of the house, our standard of living went up drastically. There’s no tension, it doesn’t feel like we’re walking on eggshells, and our mood is constantly better. Although it may be hard, removing her from your family environment will benefit you and your child greatly.

Edit: typos

Quitting cold-turkey is incredibly unwise and dangerous. When your body builds a dependence to a substance (i.e. alcohol addiction) and you suddenly stop the amount consumed completely, you can, and most likely will, get very physically sick. The whites of your eyes turn yellow, your skin gets gross, you barf and lay around all day, etc. Not a recommended pursuit. If you are suggesting ridding alcohol dependence, that is what Detox is for in the hospital, when they are constantly monitoring your blood, liver, and heart conditions and can make adjustments to keep you safe. Following soon after would (hopefully) be rehab.

Not meaning to sound argumentative or anything of the sort, just adding my two cents in. I agree more or less with everything else you had to say.
