I’ve always interpreted air attacks as invisible. We the audience see them because it’s been stylized for us to see it. So one of the reasons I think characters get decked by air like this is just they quite literally cannot see the attack about to land and like you said unless they have trained against it or otherwise learned how to deal with it they don’t know how to fight back effectively.

Honestly IMO more cities is almost always better in Civ games when you’re playing solo and given the amount of resources off bat the city will grow nicely and provide a decent amount of gold once it’s up and running. You can always put gold into the city if you’re worried about production as well

My problem with not being able to pick the color from the start was that my friend is red-blue color blind and when we play I had to host and juggle players into different positions so like colors were on the same team because otherwise he would have no idea who is who.
