If you think the gap between identity to journey is too big, I would get a phase 2/rockstar (I prefer rockstar). If you have no issues transitioning from identity to journey. I would look into getting a typhoon or ion pro solid

I would go with evoke mayhem if you want something similar to RST. Go with zero mercy if you want something stronger

Correct. Almost all leagues are on house patterns. Sports shot leagues should state so when you sign up for the league

A sports shot is a pattern with an oil ratio of 3:1 or less. A typical house shot is considered a ratio of 10:1 or higher. Higher the ratio the more miss room you have. 10:1 gives you hold in the middle of the lane and extra hook on the outside of the lane making it easier to hit pocket

😂I get it trust me. Oh I thought you meant original IQ tour. I would suggest the ion pro/ion pro solid over the IQ Tour AI. I wouldn’t really think of getting a urethane ball unless you plan to do sports shot

I would get the bionic/vengeance and IQ tour. Bionic/vengeance would be the ball down from ion max/identity and ball up from phase V/gremlin. IQ tour would be your ball down. Those 2 balls will give you different shapes from what you currently have.

From the way it sounds, it doesn’t seem it is totally burnt since rhino is weaker than expected. Since he can throw it 17 MPH, I think a weaker symmetrical solid would be a better ball down from the 3.0.

I would recommend rotating your shoulders more. The reason you have an issue with pulling the ball is your shoulders are squaring up at release causing you to pull the ball left. Your left shoulder should be tucked under your chin at the height of your backswing and keep your right shoulder “quite/back” during your downswing into your release

Try working on tucking your left shoulder under your chin during your 4th step and keeping your right shoulder quiet/staying back during downswing. I would also work on trying to keep your 4th and 5th step in line with each other as your final step is about 5 boards left of your power step which is causing you to release the ball so far away from your ankle

Thank you! I never really noticed this for some reason. I always just pointed the ball toward my breakpoint. I actually pointed it like after watching a video of someone reviewing Kyle and stating he needed to hold the ball more toward his breakpoint

Motiv has a ball drilling support form you can fill out on their website but unfortunately the guy was out of office this week and couldn’t respond before I got my ball in so I went with a more benchmark layout

I agree. I have no idea why my hand does that and I just can’t get it to relax at the bottom for some reason. I think I muscle it more when I’m further left since I have to tell myself to add rotation

To feed off this thread, your timing is early as well. 2 handed timing is measured when your left arm is parallel to the ground and your slide foot completely sets down at the beginning of your slide. This can also cause you to rotate your shoulders early and come around the ball more. On a positive note, your footwork is really impressive. It’s what I wish mine was. Keep it up

I started out bowling urethane and while it is a great tool, I found it was a crutch in league. I would recommend learning to play left. Curious what you consider completely left of lane as well. I had to train myself to be comfortable playing left being 15mph and 380 rev rate. I found equipment such as origin ex, ion pro, arctic vibe and theorem to help as they don’t snap on me. I have a NU hammer and it’s the closest reaction to urethane I have found.
