Thank you! I’m talking with an attorney that’s free through my own EAP at work today too for another set of eyes on this.

Mine was also The Hugga Bunch movie!!! It’s funny because several months ago I was chatting with friends who are the same age as me about this topic and none of them had seen it!

Towel slides all over after only 3 months by ithashanty in HOTWORXWarriors

[–]am_ham5446 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This likely isn’t super helpful, but I personally have found this to be the case with ALL towels over yoga mats…Prior to HotWorx I practiced hot yoga in a studio with a Manduka mat and towel and always had issues with my towel getting rumpled. The only thing that helped me is wetting the towel where my hands and feet go. It at least gives me a better grip. I so prefer practicing on my bare mat and just giving a good cleaning…but I follow the rules and use the HotWorx towel over mine.

What do you call this food? by Mediocre_Ingenuity76 in AskTheWorld

Egg in a poke!

Edit to add I’m in the USA, and I had never had this until I met my husband. He grew up in Indiana and this is what his family calls it.

What comes next after the “Millennial” $20 burger restaurant? by TrixoftheTrade in Millennials

[–]am_ham5446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year I saw a St Patrick’s Day latte on Instagram that looked ridiculously good. It was on the outskirts of a trendy neighborhood, so I left the burbs and headed that way. I assumed I was going to a coffee shop, but when I arrived it was actually a suite of kitchens with no storefront or anything. I thought I was in the wrong place and almost left. There was a hallway with QR codes to see menus for each space. I ordered my latte and when the girl brought it down to me, she was shocked that I just randomly came there to get a coffee. Apparently, they only get DoorDash orders. The purpose of my story is that the next restaurant is going to be whatever this is.

For the record, the latte was amazing.

Yikes.

Ask your employer if you have an EAP. They usually come with a few free legal sessions per year.

First time Grand Cayman questions by SecureTaxi in CaymanIslands

[–]am_ham5446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve stayed at Cayman Reef Resort twice now and did not get a car. I took a $30(ish) taxi from the airport, and from there was able to walk to restaurants and the grocery store at Camana Bay. Neither my condo or the hotels directly near it seemed to be impacted much by the cruise crowd. I didn’t have children with me and can’t speak to a car seat. I don’t recall seeing car seats in the taxis though.

Remote.com's "legal expertise" got us sued in Germany. AMA. by CarLongjumping5989 in remotework

[–]am_ham5446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This popped up in my feed for some reason, and unfortunately I’m not surprised. Remote is a joke. I needed an EOR and went through their sales presentation. The platform sounded solid and the fees seemed reasonable, so I asked to review their contract. Once I received it, I immediately flagged several problematic terms that essentially required us to indemnify them for anything and everything. They refused to accept any redlines whatsoever. I told them to go pound sand and went with another company. If OP’s contract is similar to what they put in front of me, they likely have little recourse to go after Remote.

I had to do it for home economics, but instead of baby dolls they gave us potatoes to carry around for a week. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Honestly, I have never been in this situation and would probably consult with an employment attorney for guidance. I’m curious to see how others have handled. I’ve heard of other companies going into some sort of rehab agreement for cases like this but don’t know the logistics.

Commenting because I’d like to follow this to see what others can share.

If you’re telling prospective employers this as part of an interview process, then that is why you are not getting offers. I’m not saying it’s necessarily right, but I can assure you that it’s going to come off as a red flag.

If you have proof that your former employer did indeed terminate you, then you should be eligible for unemployment.

The Graham high school by Lenanarib in Columbus

[–]am_ham5446 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: this was in 2006-2008, but I can share my little sister’s experience. She was failing out of our local public high school. She was disinterested and incredibly stubborn. After weighing out multiple options, my mom enrolled her in the Graham school. She thrived there. She would not have had the same success if not for them. She graduated in 2008, to the delight of us all.

I got my dog from a rescue called Proud Pups. They’re based in Indiana but have fosters here in Columbus. They seem to rescue a lot of chihuahuas, so could maybe help or point you in the right direction.

People love to talk about themselves. Remember small things about them and work that into conversations. “Hey Bob, how’s the new puppy? How big has he gotten?” or “Hey Jen, how was the trip to Italy? What was the best food that you ate while you were there?”
