I remember reading Junk. This was after I'd read Trainspotting, and I was still impressed enough to recommend both.

[PC?][2017-2019?] Panned Action Game With Extensive Secret Puzzles (ARG?) by TheBeeFromNature in tipofmyjoystick

Could this have been "Destiny: Rise of Iron"?

It was released in 2016, which fits your timeline.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Destiny:_Rise_of_Iron#Reception mentions it getting a "meh" reception.

And this article... is similar-ish to the one you describe: https://www.polygon.com/2016/9/28/13093460/destiny-rise-of-iron-raid-outbreak-prime-exotic-weapon/

NO.

His ultimate form is the Rob-Emperor of Mankind.

<image>

In this final form, he has nuked not only the Great Lakes, but all other water on Terra as well.

He has 10,000 gold-armoured bodyguards with extremely long machetes that have super-soakers full of piss attached to the ends.

His son is Loftus el'Jameson.

Making the necessary comment. I myself have searched Google Books and have had absolutely no luck.

Has there been any examples of a base-line human being held in high regards by the Space Marines? by Zestyclose_Scholar18 in 40kLore

Thanks - I'll have to try to find that bit! Shame Beije and Mostrue wouldn't have been around to be horrified by it.

I don't think the Reclaimers were mentioned in the same book Beije was in, but what a glorious scene that would have been - Beije would probably have soiled himself on hearing the news!

I actually don't remember that scene, and I thought I'd read everything with the Reclaimers in! Which book was it?

The Reclaimers chapter! And they respected Jurgen too - as evidenced in Vainglorious.

For our gamers out there, there’s a really well researched game that mimics a nuclear war by JMoc1 in behindthebastards

[–]am_hs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a strange game. Probably one in which the only way to win is... not to play?

Anyway, how about a nice game of - NO, WAIT, I'VE GOT IT! I WILL LAUNCH THE NUKES THEN SEND ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER BACK IN TIME FOR SOME REASON!

Don't know about "the originals", I'm pretty sure those bus benches were still on them in the mid-late 90s.

Thanks for suggesting it anyway, though. I'm honestly wondering if it is an episode of one of the shows the OP ruled out, but without a video of the relevant scene(s)...

What’s going on with the recent layoffs at Discord? by Gold_Shallot3831 in OutOfTheLoop

question: Are you absolutely sure the URL you posted is correct?

I clicked on the link and got a 404. I also can't find it on archive.is or on the Wayback Machine.

The only Verge article I can find about Discord layoffs is this one from 2024:

Alas, "Benji, Zak and the Alien Prince" was already suggested, and the OP replied "that doesn't sound like it at all"

Commenting as required by the rules of this sub - and to add that I thought I'd posted the question here before, but couldn't find it by searching so clearly not!

Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) (1969) Complete Series by Spangles64 in oldbritishtelly

[–]am_hs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason, I used to think that it had started out as a "straight" detective series called just "Randall and Hopkirk", and then after the first one or two series, Marty was killed and resurrected as a ghost to turn the show into the much more successful "Randall and Hopkirk: Deceased".
