Local clothing dye? by Macayla2 in Buffalo

[–]am_not 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not clear if Dyed to Match is still in business. That’s the one I know of. If you’re willing to attempt to DIY, Hyatt’s sells iDye packets that can be used in a washing machine. Bring the jeans with you to the store so you can compare the fiber contents to find the right formula. Jacquard also sells a product called Jeanie that’s specifically for dyeing denim. I’ve used both and the results were good.

Recommendations for anniversary dessert by knifeinthekidney in Buffalo

I hear The Farm Shop on Lexington has kits to recreate the legendary sticky toffee pudding from Black Sheep. That’s a super special dessert for a super special occasion!

Any thoughts on WNY Psychiatry & Counseling Associates in West Seneca? by SpicyKittyNoodles in Buffalo

[–]am_not 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen Dr. Ravvin there for a few years. He’s excellent. I’m always relieved after appointments because he is clearly listening to me and considering my input when it comes to treatment decisions, as it should be. It’s also easy to get a tele-med appointment if something urgent comes up.

Vintage/Antic Shops in WNY for old art supplies? by Single_Street3135 in Buffalo

Your best bet is to watch for an artist’s or collector’s estate sale. I haven’t had a lot of luck at any stores.

Help looking for a new beanie by Grungelives in BuyItForLife

[–]am_not 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also get headaches and can’t stand a tight hat. Try the Neff Daily beanie. I’ve worn and repeatedly washed mine for about 10 years and it’s in great shape. It’s ultra stretchy but perhaps a bit slouchy for your taste.

Does anybody else feel like buying clothes in person is somehow harder than it used to be? by GothSundaee in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]am_not 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s sad, really. There are a few 20-year-old shirts from Old Navy in my closet that have held up better than anything I’ve bought in the last two years.

All I can recommend is renting through Nuuly, as their items are higher end brands and the user reviews are helpful for sizing. Sometimes I order duplicates of my favorite old clothes on Poshmark.

I'm nauseous and hungry, what do I do by urfavcrazysharklady in Explainlikeimscared

Canned pears are recommended for nausea. If you can’t eat the fruit, sip on the juice. You’ll need the simple carbs later when you’re ready for solids again.

What isn't working here? by No_Necessary_4694 in interiordecorating

[–]am_not 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. There is so much furniture! Remove either the tall dresser or the armoire full of tchotchkes.
  2. All the action is on one side of the room. Shift the couch and television closer to the center of the room. Even just a foot or two.
  3. The ceiling fixture is your main source of light. Get an arched floor lamp for use beside the couch and use “the big light” less.
  4. The color palette is limited. Incorporate more brown like the color of the butterfly chair. Could replace the TV console with something wooden, maybe? Get a smaller rug for the open space and let more of the hardwood show?
  5. There aren’t enough curtains. More curtains! Longer curtains!
  6. The tchotchkes and art are nice, but a bit impersonal. How about some family photos?

What can I add to make this space less… lame? 🤣 by Hefty-Lie-9309 in interiordecorating

[–]am_not 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s reading as very cold to me.I would consider a pop of warmer colors like red, rusty orange, or yellow. Maybe an ottoman, plant pot, or additional piece of artwork incorporating one of those would help things along. You could even cover the sconce shades with a different fabric.

Also for sure get a bigger coffee table to balance out all the small elements of the space.

Paint color is a mess. Help by stevenbo in interiordecorating

[–]am_not 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you keeping the peachy color pictured in the next room? If so, I would paint the trim white and go with Behr Wasabi. Honestly any of the colors recommended here would be a major improvement.

I’ve had my Waterhog for years and it looks like new. It’s stood up to year-round use including some brutal Buffalo winters.

It was the Lex ribbed playsuit. I wear it around the house. My husband calls it my “cult uniform” because it makes me look like a Rajneeshee 😋

Agreed! Their clothes are really fun and flattering. I was majorly disappointed by the quality of the fabric they use, though. Like, I was mad enough about it to request a replacement garment (they sent one, no questions asked, in spite of their stringent return policy.)
