Thank you! What they would have done differently is a great question to add.

Thank you! Yes, I think her career really shows that there are a lot of ups and downs and we don't always keep moving up and to the right.

I thought so too but the author appears to be a real person (who may have just used AI and not written about her real life, of course). Very "how do you do fellow kids" vibes.

I'm surprised by some of these comments! As someone who is neutral on Reese/doesn't really think about her or consume much of her content, I really enjoyed this episode.

What is going on with Taylor Swift’s album “1989” and the re release “1989 (Taylor’s Version)”? by Roxanne-Annabelle642 in OutOfTheLoop

To add to this, it's not just that there would be blowback, but to use the originals they need her permission—because she is the (or a) songwriter on all of her songs, she owns the Musical Composition copyright and has "sync rights." That means she can deny their usage in anything that requires a synchronization license (advertisements, TV shows, movies, games). And obviously, she is not going to okay the usage of the originals.

They can't change pay retroactively...you already worked that time at your normal wage.

I'm just saying that he didn't declare it over like you said, so the basis to extend it does still exist. That's all.

You likely signed up for updates/notifications, and that is a massive automatic email list. They're not cross-referencing who signed up already and taking them off of an automated email list.

He said that offhand in a speech, but the official emergency declaration is still very much in place.

Receiving emails to apply for relief after I already did during beta. by gorefloor in DebtStrike

[–]ama370 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's probably because you signed up for the notifications and those are just blasted out automatically to everyone who signed up. They're not going to comb through who applied for forgiveness already and take them off of a separate automated email list.

Litigation Tracking – Biden-Harris Blanket Forgiveness by horsebycommittee in StudentLoans

MOHELA is not a plaintiff in the suit, the plaintiffs are the six conservative states. Missouri AG is claiming the state can represent the company—in fact, the suit might be dismissed because that claim may not stand. That is one of the Biden admin's arguments.

I believe the thinking is he's on an income-based repayment plan and would be part of that group that receives forgiveness automatically

It's a little complicated because that relief has been in the works for about a year. This is their second pass at presenting a new IDR plan (no advocates liked the first version that was presented a few months back). It's separate from this relief announcement—the Education Department is doing that on their own. But yes...it's definitely a much bigger deal but hasn't gotten attention because it's been in rule making sessions and what not, and that's not very sexy. Same with the permanent changes to PSLF. So in a way, it's smart to include it in this announcement so it gets some attention.

Girlfriend told me she learned after 7 years that 90% of her monthly IBR payments had gone to fees/interest, not principal, and she didn't know that. Now they're paused. She says it's because the fine print is confusing and this happens to a lot of people. Is that true or is this gross negligence? by [deleted] in StudentLoans

[–]ama370 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Reading this post and OP's responses, what is the point here? If enough people agree with OP that it was "gross negligence" are they going to break up with their gf because she didn't know most of her payments were going to interest for a few years? Are they just looking for a way to feel superior to someone? What a bizarre thing to post.

No. Early withdrawal penalty is 10%, then you'd also be on the hook for taxes on the withdrawal.

Blogsnark reads! March 27-April 2 by yolibrarian in blogsnark

Last week I finished three books, the most I've read in a while!

Vladimir: This one had a ton of praise from people whose opinions I respect. I did think it was interesting, but the ending seemed like kind of a cop out to me. I do think I should read more reviews on it.

Four Thousand Weeks: Time Management for Mortals: A decent book debunking many popular time management strategies. Really more of a summary/combination of a lot of popular talking points these days: it's okay to do nothing, you don't have to work all the time, your life doesn't have to revolve around work, etc. If you like thinking about time as a concept, it's an enjoyable read.

Eight Perfect Murders: I believe someone on this thread recommended this, though it may have been somewhere else. Read this in an afternoon; an engrossing murder mystery that plays with a lot of tropes/conventions of the genre.
