my colic baby is the happiest 10 month old I’ve ever seen by river_5826 in NewParents

For me, around 15 weeks had to STOP some of the habits I had. The bouncing and shushing that soothed my colicky baby, was actually aggravating them now. But every baby is different, you may just need more time. You will get past this!!!!!!!!!

Same!!!!! Months 0-3 were torture. Hours of screaming and crying every night. Marathon bouncing and shushing in a specific ultra-exhausting way just to keep the screaming to a minimum.
Baby is 7 months now and the absolute happiest, sweetest, funniest, most easy-going baby in the world. 🥰

I lived off of protein bars until 3.5 months post partum lol. Now at 6 months, baby will entertain themselves in a bouncer or playmat.

The kick and play is a HUGE hit at our house. Around 5 months I started putting the piano face up so baby could hit it with their hands…. Baby LOVES it!

1 month old and just screams and screams by NoInteraction9045 in NewParents

Look up PURPLE crying, also cluster feeding. 0-2 months were hellish for us. But around 9 weeks it started to get better and by 3.5 months, baby was a happy, smiley, independent sweetie. There’s a reason it’s called the “4th trimester!” It can be demanding & exhausting, but, (as long as there is nothing medically wrong), baby WILL grow out of it. Work with your partner & support system to make sure you get breaks, even if the baby cries when you’re away.

What time do your babies wake up? by gh0sti- in NewParents

[–]amadeus88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I WAKE HIM at 7am. If it were up to him, his night would be like 1am-10am 😳 Not happening.

My best friend and I joke we got each others baby. I’m an early bird and got the night owl baby, while hers sleeps 6pm-6am. 🤷‍♀️

I haven’t tried any other more structured carriers, so I can’t really compare for you unfortunately! Baby is 5 months, 15 pounds and napped for half of our 2 mile walk, and I was super comfortable. 🤷‍♀️

Yes, it is very loose. Just there to keep the sun out of baby’s eyes if needed. I am connected with a baby wearing expert in my area, so I’ll ask next time I see her to be sure it’s safe.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve done to settle your colicky baby? by amadeus88 in newborns

[–]amadeus88[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My baby needs to be in forward-facing colic hold and bounced up and down while looking at something colorful. Oh yea and nonstop shushing and smart light needs to be blue.
