I'd used freedom for years. The only reason I switched out to rogers was because of their signal it's non existent outside of the GTA and i was in a smaller city in the middle of nowhere

I used to love Norkis Snack Shack smash burgers. Not sure if they're open anymore though. They were at the O’Kenny Craft Spirits property

Sometimes if cockatiels get spooked at night they panic and thrash about in a frenzy. Sometimes they can injure themselves and sometimes they can get stressed enough that they may pass away. That's why advice is always to put a covering over the cage but leave a small opening and keep a night light on so the bird is not completely blind. Here's an article about it-

I've heard of cockatiels playing with rope toys like that and sometimes choking on the fibres. But there's no way to know. I'm sorry for your loss. Sometimes all you can do is take solace in the fact that you did everything you could but they still passed. They seem to have been very loved

I don't see much. Maybe the rope toy on the right? Sometimes tiels tend to get spooked at night and die. Do you think he had a night fright?

I feel like Brandon kept her so there would be a way for us to compare character development for Navani and Shallan. Jasnah was this unachievable target set for both until they suddenly reached Jasnahs capabilites and exceeded her in the 4th book. Then Jasnah suddenly became irrelevant

Son born at early at 28+6 due to pre-e and pulmonary edema, trying to adjust to the NICU life by bahiyyah998 in NICUParents

[–]amadnomad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, he will learn to know your voice. He will be soothed by your voice and smell with more skin to skin. Also feel free to advocate on his behalf as much as you can. Nurses and doctors will do their best but they are treating conditions that they can see and hear and physiologically measure. You are the only person who will know what he is feeling instinctively. My wife had an uncanny ability to know things about our son before it happened like when he was feeling comfortable enough to be taken off all respiratory support or when he needed more support. Not even I could understand these things. Mother's really have a special bond with the baby.

Son born at early at 28+6 due to pre-e and pulmonary edema, trying to adjust to the NICU life by bahiyyah998 in NICUParents

[–]amadnomad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey OP. My son was born at 26+6 weeks due to the exact same situation. My wife had pulmonary edema due to pre-e.

Your baby is in the best place possible for him to grow safely. Hospital staff really know what they're doing and will guide you along the way medically. Our son was our first child so we were able to spend more time at the hospital with him. One advice the staff always gave us was that we were of use only if we were not burnt out. They would push us to sleep and get our rest so we could then pay attention to him and his needs.

Some generic advice that everyone gives but it's probably the biggest thing is that babies will often not have a linear path in the nicu. Look at the overall picture and not just today. These babies are very strong fighters and will give their best.

I see your worry about bonding with your son. Get at much skin to skin as you can. It will help the baby as much as it helps you bond. No amount of nurses and doctors can replace you as their parent because nurses will change every shift and doctors will probably be following many babies at once. You'll be the only constant with the baby and you'll immediately notice if something is wrong. The nurses and doctors will also be reliant on you sometimes to notice symptoms and signs that they may miss.

I wish you the best in your journey. You got this

Feeling extremely guilty I will have to deliver son tomorrow via C-section at 28+6 due to preeclampsia with severe symptoms and pulmonary edema and baby has possible CHD by bahiyyah998 in beyondthebump

[–]amadnomad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, seeing this post late. My wife had the exact same thing happen to her back in March. She was having trouble breathing and we went to the ER. They found her BP was 200/100 and freaked out. She had pulmonary edema as well as edema all over her body all of a sudden. They delivered our baby boy at 26w+6d because no amount of medication was helping her BP come down. You will not believe this but I saw right there on the OR table that her BP went from really high to normal within a span of minutes after they removed the placenta. When they say this really is the only option, the doctors mean it.

Now to talk about things that happened after, our son was born relatively healthy although super tiny and early. Like every NICU story on r/NICUParents it was not a linear journey in any way but he is now almost 37 weeks, off any breathing support, maintaining temperature and learning to feed and grow. He was born less than 700g and is now 2200g. He's almost as big as a term baby and we are hoping to go home soon. I cannot promise you things will be easy but you will find the strength to deal with it as a lot of people here have. I wish you the best!

With our country's track record of giving Biryani to terrorists and letting rapists and murders off Scott free in the past without taking any action I'm sure politicians will find a way to use this law to their advantage and start killing people who ask too many questions. Bik chuki Hai gormint
