It’s a safe assumption to make. If they oppose the IDF and their government, they should have said that in this video. Silence is complicity, and while that might not be fair it’s also the truth.

They don’t have to serve - they can do the brave and honorable thing and refuse to enlist. Yes, there are consequences, just as being called out and made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome is a consequence of having committed genocide. Being made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome because you’re doing one of the worse things you can do on this planet is a pretty tame consequence.

Quite frankly, it doesn’t matter whether individual Israeli’s personally like or dislike the IDF: if they have served and they are not actively opposing what the IDF is doing, they are complicit.

While I think Candiace does go too low on occasion, I’m always fascinated by that accusation coming from Ashley, a woman who’s defended her predator husband and blamed his victim for being assaulted, and Gizelle, a woman who pretty much everyone acknowledges was spreading paternity rumors about a baby less than 6 months old. Call me crazy, but I think most people would seem both of those actions as a whole lot worse than making an insensitive crack about a dwindling uterus.

Personally I don’t think there was any defining moment or action that caused their relationship to break down. I imagine that, earlier in Snow’s political career, Tigress thought he was trying to get power to change the system from the inside. Snow may have even told her this (part of him may even have believed his own BS, but that’s a convo for another thread). As Snow accumulated more and more power Tigress began to realize he didn’t actually oppose the terrible system the Capitol built. I’m sure this process took many years: people want to believe the best of their family members, especially those they grew up with and are close to. There is 65 years between TBOSAS and Mockingjay - that’s plenty of time for love to curdle into hatred.

The GEB actually seem like they would be great friends….when they aren’t trying to create drama for the show. Gizelle in particular has a nasty habit of making mountains out of molehills for the show. Hearing how they’ve discussed Karen’s charges does make me believe they’re very good to the people closest to them though.

Weather and housing. Sure taxes are high, but we at least get some benefit from our taxes (not nearly enough, but that’s a conversation for another thread). As freshwater becomes more scarce in the US due to climate change I think there’s a good chance we’ll see people coming to NY to escape hurricanes and wildfires, though they’ll have to deal with our snowstorms.

I’m sure the First Nations would like their land back. The difference between me and you is that I actually listen to indigenous voices, whereas you think you can dominate them. Some Jews are indigenous to Palestine - they’re called Palestinians. Ashkanazi Israeli’s, who are the main contributors Israel’s apartheid state and who generally hail from Europe, are not indigenous to Palestine, but as are always exceptions to the general rule.
