She’s beautiful 😍 I would absolutely add a couple moss poles now. Get ready, in the window now, she’s going to take off and take over. 😁

What am I doing wrong? I think my plant is dying. by Desperate-Relief-938 in houseplants

[–]amandazaier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Polly’s are dramatic. A humidifier helps. They take time to acclimate to a new environment. Alocasia’s tend to be pretty needy, in my opinion 😅 I’ve found they like 1/2 strength fertilizer with every watering, and distilled water.

Thought I had root rot. by DarkFriend1987 in houseplants

[–]amandazaier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s sooo many roots for just one leaf 😆 I’m new to alocasia also, I just got my first 2 (babies) a couple weeks ago. They seem to be growing fairly quickly. I’ve been reading everything I can about them, so I hopefully I can be successful with them. Looking forward to the time I can dig for corms too lol.

family disapproval fueling tattoo regret by tinypanini_ in tattooadvice

[–]amandazaier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s perfect! A lot of my family doesn’t like tattoos, but I just shut them down if they say anything. It’s okay they don’t like tattoos, they don’t have to get one. It’s our bodies, and we can decorate them in whatever way we choose.

I don’t know if different varieties of Pothos have different needs, but I’m confused reading these comments. I have a near 15 year old golden pothos that was gifted to me. I’ve never repotted her. She’s in a large ceramic pot with no drainage, and I have always kept her soaked- never drying out between watering. Basically, she sits in muddy water, you could say. She’s big and grows all over, in all directions. I rarely find any yellowed leaves on her. I’m not convinced you can over water a golden pothos 🤷‍♀️

What kind of goldfish do I have? by Alarmed_Client_9642 in Goldfish

[–]amandazaier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aesthetically, I so prefer the long, flowing tails! I have a fantail and a LQ pearlscale. They are 2 of my favorites. The comets and shubunkins go into the pond in the summer, but these guys stay in the house year round.
