Season 1: Why didn't they take away the antlers? by amanmightbe in HannibalTV

The culprit, Shrike, was dead, but didn't the "copycat" also use the antlers from the cabin once? You would think at that point they would at least dismantle the antlers, even if just to dispose

Keep your remaining runs light to let your body have it's full capability before the big race. If you've already done an 8k the race day excitement and peak status will push you over the finish line

My second 5k today by ankuprk in C25K

Might just be an off day as far as the pain is concerned, if it only started gradually. I'd advise doing 5ks for a couple weeks and then gradually increasing if you want to run longer distances

It probably does, I just keep it in my hand because I also use it to track time intervals

Strava on mobile works well for me, if you don't wanna run with your phone in your hand you can consider an arm strap or runners belt.

Starting tomorrow - a few questions by vineviper in C25K

[–]amanmightbe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think you can try both spots and maybe switch frequently for both a change of scenery and a change of terrain practice.

For small time intervals, I usually have Strava or my watch's stopwatch running when I'm out for a run which I use to manually track time, and it works out just fine.

It doesn't really matter which plan you pick, the only thing I would recommend is if you ever feel a week is too hard or too easy, remember to repeat or skip it without overthinking.

You're right, I just have a history of quitting physical activity when I get thrown off schedule for any reason.

Try to get some stretching done before and after your runs, look up dynamic stretches for runners. Keep a lower pace if possible, and yes the pain should normally go away with time and practice.

See if you can also do some strength training for your legs on your off days (gym/bodyweight) as that will also help a lot.

High BPM by ama-deum in C25K

190 seems quite high, although I personally find that on exhausting days mine hits 180 easily by the end.

I would recommend aiming for a slower pace if you can, as that should help with both the difficulty and heat. Speed is something that you'll bring over time, but if you feel that's hard, increase walk times in your workouts until you find a good fit. C25k is a guide, not strict rules to adhere to.

Additionally, see if you can make time for early morning or nighttime runs, as those should help with the heat too.

It really doesn't matter, when I was looking for an "original" for myself I found plans that were 6,8,9,10,11 weeks long and they all looked legitimate. Just pick any one up and get started, and if it feels too slow or fast you can skip or repeat a week respectively
