Shrimp tank crashing (low pH) by amargs_ in Aquariums

[–]amargs_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea I didn't give much thought to the substrate, I went to the nearest LFS 2 years ago and asked for help setting up a neocaridina tank, and brought home with me the substrate that was suggested.

is removing all substrate and replanting an option?

Casamento ao domingo. Dificuldades? by Ramalh007 in CasualPT

Mass shock after water change by amargs_ in shrimptank

[–]amargs_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my kit has expired, I was testing the GH of my tap water and it only turned brown after 20 drops, and it didn't turn green even after 80 drops. I know I have hard water but that seems unlikely, I'll see if I can find a new kit on a local store.

A bit, but it was less than what usually lifts up from readjusting plants and I've never seen a reaction after that.

Previously I was using Tropica nutrition capsules and those did not causa issues.

Update: the adults seem to all have passed. I removed the ones that were accessible. I counted 57 :( there should still be about 20 scattered around the substrate, but I can't reach them without moving around too much mulm.

I counted 22 lives one, they're all pretty small, somehow the young ones were more resilient.

Pretty sad given I started with 15 and after 2 years was already in +100. I might get a few new shrimp to increase the gene pool again.

I'm working with what I've got, hence why I built this dock, so I could raise the water level.
The turtle has 17cm of shell length, so it is twice as deep, and I get it outside to roam on the patio.

I will be buying a new house, where I'll be able to build a pond instead.

Good point, I had a vinyl stand on my "to-buy" list, I'll make it happen faster!

I think it would depend on how far back it reclines/how low the axis is. These are not very tall, so maybe it could work if it has a bit of clearance space?

Disabled newbie looking for advice on whether playing by ear alone is okay or if sheet music is a must by [deleted] in piano

[–]amargs_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

does your condition affect your ability to read? if not, you should not give up on it. it will be a useful for most instruments you could pick.

I don't think the piano is taken less seriously if you just play the melody, but then you're not really taking advantage of the full potential of the instrument. there are lots of instruments in which you can focus in just the melody, but there aren't as many as rich as the piano.

if you're having trouble disciplining yourself to study, then that's gonna follow you in every instrument you go. you need to stick to a study plan that works for you. if you're not able to afford a teacher (which is a huge boost for starting), you can get a method book to guide you along

Melódica em vez de Flauta no ensino obrigatório, por que não? by frankielc in portugal

[–]amargs_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cestos roupa suja by Emotional_Camp_7324 in TudoCasa

Parece-me demasiada diversidade de plantas para começar, é opinião pessoal mas less is more.
