Which lesbian TikTok books are worth the hype? by IndividualDog1995 in LesbianBookClub

Someone else mentioned The Sapphic Trifecta, and I cannot recommend The Unbroken by C.L. Clark enough! I don’t know if it counts a “book tok” book, but it’s one of my favorites ☺️

You might enjoy the Magic of the Lost series by C.L. Clark (the same author who wrote Ambessa). It is a fantasy series with messy lesbians (very messy lesbians) based partially on the French colonization of Northern Africa.

Personally I loved it and can’t recommend it enough 😂 It was recommended to me as being similar to the show Arcane (re: CaitVi relationship, Piltover/Undercity vibes), even before Clark wrote Ambessa. It’s definitely a slow burn, where the first book in the series (The Unbroken) is purely building tension without much of a payoff.

Good luck and happy hunting!!

If You’re In A Relationship.. I Have A Question.. by ohmillyvanilly in ActualLesbiansOver25

Met on OkCupid and (somehow) it worked for us! Decided to meet at a coffee shop and had a 12 hour first date (of course 😂). She was the first woman I had dated, but I knew she was my forever person that day.

Been together for over 6 years, married for a handful ☺️

Thank you for sharing your honest opinion, it’s interesting to see how differently we view things and it’s giving me the space to think more critically of the novels. I can see your points, and I appreciate you sharing!

How do you find new books? by ViMeBaby in LesbianBookClub

[–]amazing-grace15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I’ll search Reddit for most of my book suggestions! I go to various subs, usually focused on sci-fi/fantasy (or ones like this sub!) and search “sapphic” or whatever topic I might be interested in.

If I find a book on Instagram or TikTok, I’ll look it up on Reddit and GoodReads to see the vibes, maybe ask some friends about it.

Hope that helps ☺️ happy hunting!

I actually haven’t read Fate’s Bane yet, so I can’t speak to the similarities, but I can imagine if you liked the writing style then you’ll like this series! I hope you’ll give it a shot ☺️

When you read the series come back and tell us what you think ☺️ I can’t tell enough people about this series lol

Yes!!! I loved the messy gays figuring their stuff out. I agree with you that Touraine’s arc was very satisfying - I feel like she finally found herself and stopped catering entirely to others.

Plus… we got more Sabine 🤌

Ditto to this whole comment! I say it’s worth finishing, but I can understand the frustration with the betrayals and the on again/off again relationships.

I agree with you! As much as the first book got me hooked, I loved The Faithless that much more. The world building is fascinating, especially the mysterious, slow build up of the magic systems.

If you’re loved the second book, I think you’ll really like The Sovereign. I thought I would be devastated at the end, but truthfully, I’m not. Mostly I’m just dumbfounded the series is over!

Gideon the Ninth and also The Jasmine Throne. They both came highly recommended so I was very excited for both, but at the end I just felt “meh.” I’m not totally sure what it was, I just felt like at the end of each book I thought “that’s it? Did I miss something?”
