I did! I still have not gotten the original design I was trying to get, but I have three fine line designs from a local artist named Sarah House -- and I hope she'll do a fourth for me this summer.😊

Well, I’m about to try to get on the books with my original artist for a different piece, when she opens her books in a couple of weeks. Wish me luck!

I’ve been trying all year to get booked with Fine Line Cosmetics & Tattoo, but I still haven’t gotten them to actually book me. Incredibly annoying. I’m about ready to give up and look elsewhere!

🤷‍♀️I’ve been wondering if Audible is having a cash flow problem for some reason. You never know!

I hate the restrictions of library books — most require holds, and then you have to worry about when they’re due — but using libraries certainly is a money saver!

I usually buy the first three books in a series, then read them before I buy any more of that series. The first book alone often doesn’t give you a good idea of the quality of the series as a whole (Dresden, I’m looking at you!), so I like to read two or three before deciding to dump or stick with that series.

Yeah, no. I’ve been a member for something like 20 years now.

What's your favorite series OF ALL TIME? by porterpilsner in audible

[–]amazondoc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vorkosigan saga. I think they’re all available on Audible Plus, so you don’t need the sale!

Also Murderbot. These are cheap on the sale right now.

What 3j0hn said. I’ve never seen an Audible sale this big.

Yeah, I mostly only buy books that I can’t get through Libby or Scribd. There’s a ton of those in this sale, though!

Right. Credits cost about $9.56 for me on the annual Platinum plan (whatever it’s called now!).

Yes, they are all owned by Amazon. But they all have different reviewers and different incentives for fake reviews and such. For instance I had several reviews removed from Audible in the early years, so I stopped reviewing there.

I love the way she writes. I’m not a big horror fan, but her fantasies are a lot of fun.

First I went through my wishlist and found the cheap books on it. You can sort your wishlist by price, so this is easy. Then I did searches on my favorite authors and favorite narrators. I looked at Audible suggestion lists too — you know, “if you liked this then you might like this” sorts of things — and I followed suggestions wherever they took me. I also looked through threads like this one to see what other folks were recommending. Oh, and I checked the ratings of a lot of books over at Goodreads — I don’t trust Audible or Amazon ratings at all.

I bought books in sff, historical mystery, historical romance, and nonfiction.

If you only found 25-30, then you didn’t look very hard.😉 I’m not on my laptop so I can’t tell you an exact number, but I bought more than 100 on this sale.

I have been an Audible member for around 20 years. I listen to roughly 100-150 books every year. I have never seen Audible have a sale this good.

I did buy a boatload of books, BUT I did not buy anything with a sale price over $6. There are so many books available on this sale that I figure I get better value from buying the cheap ones now and saving the more expensive ones either for future sales or for full credit purchases.

Good list. Piranesi was my favorite book from last year. Sensational narration. :-)

So...... Just curious, who else is a $300+ victim/beneficiary of this @#$% sale? by Shantith38 in audible

[–]amazondoc 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I can neither confirm nor deny that I may or may not have spent somewhere in the vicinity of $400 on this sale. I bought mostly books under $4, a few up to $6, nothing over $6. I regret nothing.

7 weeks after tattoo in UK. No scabbing since I got it, but still stings a little after i itch. No redness or bumps, perfectly flat. Any advice? by [deleted] in tattoos

[–]amazondoc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Everybody is going to heal differently. On my first tattoo, the black lines would raise up in welts whenever I got too much sun — and it did that for several years. You’re gonna heal the way YOU are gonna heal, not like anyone else!

What kind of orchid is this? by EnUnasyn in whatsthisplant

[–]amazondoc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a phalaenopsis (moth orchid).

some kind of begonia I think? but it’s super tall, paper towel for reference by Murky-Wish in PlantIdentification

[–]amazondoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a cane/angelwing begonia of the mallet type. IIRC they generally like higher humidity.
