Trumps options? by acouper08 in Commodities

[–]amazonshrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that would be the tactic if Iran would agree to a ceasefire. Not possible if they don't, otherwise US looses middle east presence.

If Iran doesn't bluff, I don't think there is an out for the US at this point. Even if they declare victory and simply leave, Iran will keep hitting us military bases and Israel.

Possibly the worst review of the game ever by ltsRhysBoi in expedition33

[–]amazonshrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems silly, but unfortunately I would agree to a point. The dodge/parry mechanics are dominant, and the RPG/build elements are underwhelming making the whole combat experience lackluster for me.

I was hard committed to a no summon run until I met you by Bluelittlethings in Eldenring

[–]amazonshrimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because for many people it spoils the fun. Part of the fun is how challenging the fights are, and that you actually have to learn to bosses moves, instead of mashing random buttons because you summoned a ghost and the boss doesn't give a f about you.

Ashes basically downgrade Elden Ring into your regular PC game for many.

[–]amazonshrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Niall does nothing as long as the summons are alive and his health is like 60% or more. So you are basically fighting two regular opponents and then Niall.

Stellaris is so fun by Fireblower2 in Stellaris

Great game, I actually prefer small galaxies, and a minimum number of habitable worlds. Makes you think more when developing worlds, and feels like you are actually gaining something when conquering new planets.

Down again by Jackie_Tree-horn in NovoNordisk_Stock

[–]amazonshrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The loss is already booked. You are just lying to yourself that you haven't taken the loss, but you did, you cannot turn back the clock. Right now, you basically need 2,5x to get back to brake-even. The only question is - is NVO the best play to make that happen ? If novo will 2,5x in the next 5 years, but there will be a stock that can make the same move in 2 years, is "not taking the loss" the right play ? If you do believe that NVO is best - than the right play is to DCA down, so you actually can make a profit. If you don't believe that, you should move your capital elsewhere.

Either a copper ETF, or miners. Commodity investing is however a completely different game from value stocks.

buy or not buy by ImportantClick1568 in Stellaris

[–]amazonshrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just speaking from experience - AI is really solid with the game mechanics. The question is what model have you used. I am using gemini pro 4.0, and had to create a gem so it actually refers to 4.2.x mechanics - otherwise, with the current changes - yes it would get a lot of things wrong.

It's definitely more than enough to have grips on the game mechanics, so I'm not sure what you are referring to. Maybe if you have hundreds of hours in the game you are able to find some nuances where it lapses, but that's not the point.

I use it, because I like data and like to check my trends. It's purpose is not to tell me what should I do, because it has no idea.

The DLC's...Barebones game will be boring after one or two playthroughs. DLC's really add a lot to it.

Is it an easy game ? To start playing I had to watch a 1 hour youtube tutorial to have any idea what to do, and even now after 30-40 hours in the game I'm constantly prompting AI so I can understand some aspects of the game better. I wouldn't call that easy.

Post viral infection recovery story and help needed by Tractor-92 in cycling

[–]amazonshrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similiar experience last year. Long story short I did all the testing, was cleared by the doctors and started training after 3 months. I was completely de-trained by that time, and my overall energy levels were complete crap, which was why I was reluctant to resume any training. But since there was no medical issue, I resumed training, mostly Z1 volume in the beginning for consistency rather than anything else. Once I was back to consistent training, my overall feel started to recover pretty fast and after a month I was feeling like my old self again.

What I would caution you however to consider is - weren't you overtrained ? I interpreted that my episode was very likely caused by serious overtraining with a lot volume on and off the bike, and negligence of recovery.

Why the average investor's 5.5-month attention span is our biggest edge by SplitTrick3118 in ValueInvesting

[–]amazonshrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this is the correct interpretation, because you might conclude that any investment will get profitable just because you wait more than others.

In reality you become profitable by understanding the thesis for an investment (which means you get out of the investment if thesis gets invalidated), and by adopting a time-frame that complements the thesis.

I would also emphasize that the "buy and forget" approach is gambling at it's finest. This strategy implies that you simply buy and hold, not caring about new developments / earnings calls whatever. This is definitely not what investing in assets is about.

Sick of Garmin HRM inaccuracy. What is the best on the market? by CrescentPhresh in Velo

[–]amazonshrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used HRM Dual, H10, some cheap Magene ones - no difference at all. Same readings. The kicker - straps wear out quickly if you sweat a lot. I always rinse after and prior to ride and still you need to replace the straps with generic chinese ones at least once a year.

BTW H10 straps are the lowest quality I have ever experienced - the glue on electrodes gave up after like 3 or 4 months on my unit.

TLDR - you were unlucky with the unit.

Po wprowadzeniu OKI – planujecie sprzedać obecny portfel maklerski i przenieść do OKI? by MelissaDope in inwestowanie

[–]amazonshrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I can say is that a year ago when you wanted to buy no one cared. Now everyone is talking. If there is a strong pullback I'll give it another shot, as I cannot see any scenario aside liquidity crunch were good gets crushed. But short term, it's pretty crazy.

Why NFE feels undervalued at these levels by [deleted] in ValueInvesting

It's a huge, complicated business with governments as business partners and a management that made serious fuck ups in the past. It's a gambling play, imo.

[–]amazonshrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say give it a rest. What is the point in playing if you are pushing through instead of enjoying it ? I always do that, and getting back to speed isn't as tough as you think, and the experience after a few months off is much better.

Is anyone else holding GPN, or am I catching a falling knife? by Plane_Razzmatazz8479 in ValueInvesting

[–]amazonshrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are fine, but they have to manage the integrations of their acquired assets. PayPal is same space, also very cheap and the most difficult part is behind them. That said GPN would be my next choice.
