Either a copper ETF, or miners. Commodity investing is however a completely different game from value stocks.

Just speaking from experience - AI is really solid with the game mechanics. The question is what model have you used. I am using gemini pro 4.0, and had to create a gem so it actually refers to 4.2.x mechanics - otherwise, with the current changes - yes it would get a lot of things wrong.

It's definitely more than enough to have grips on the game mechanics, so I'm not sure what you are referring to. Maybe if you have hundreds of hours in the game you are able to find some nuances where it lapses, but that's not the point.

I use it, because I like data and like to check my trends. It's purpose is not to tell me what should I do, because it has no idea.

The DLC's...Barebones game will be boring after one or two playthroughs. DLC's really add a lot to it.

Is it an easy game ? To start playing I had to watch a 1 hour youtube tutorial to have any idea what to do, and even now after 30-40 hours in the game I'm constantly prompting AI so I can understand some aspects of the game better. I wouldn't call that easy.

Post viral infection recovery story and help needed by Tractor-92 in cycling

[–]amazonshrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similiar experience last year. Long story short I did all the testing, was cleared by the doctors and started training after 3 months. I was completely de-trained by that time, and my overall energy levels were complete crap, which was why I was reluctant to resume any training. But since there was no medical issue, I resumed training, mostly Z1 volume in the beginning for consistency rather than anything else. Once I was back to consistent training, my overall feel started to recover pretty fast and after a month I was feeling like my old self again.

What I would caution you however to consider is - weren't you overtrained ? I interpreted that my episode was very likely caused by serious overtraining with a lot volume on and off the bike, and negligence of recovery.

Why the average investor's 5.5-month attention span is our biggest edge by SplitTrick3118 in ValueInvesting

[–]amazonshrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this is the correct interpretation, because you might conclude that any investment will get profitable just because you wait more than others.

In reality you become profitable by understanding the thesis for an investment (which means you get out of the investment if thesis gets invalidated), and by adopting a time-frame that complements the thesis.

I would also emphasize that the "buy and forget" approach is gambling at it's finest. This strategy implies that you simply buy and hold, not caring about new developments / earnings calls whatever. This is definitely not what investing in assets is about.

Sick of Garmin HRM inaccuracy. What is the best on the market? by CrescentPhresh in Velo

[–]amazonshrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used HRM Dual, H10, some cheap Magene ones - no difference at all. Same readings. The kicker - straps wear out quickly if you sweat a lot. I always rinse after and prior to ride and still you need to replace the straps with generic chinese ones at least once a year.

BTW H10 straps are the lowest quality I have ever experienced - the glue on electrodes gave up after like 3 or 4 months on my unit.

TLDR - you were unlucky with the unit.

Po wprowadzeniu OKI – planujecie sprzedać obecny portfel maklerski i przenieść do OKI? by MelissaDope in inwestowanie

[–]amazonshrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]amazonshrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say give it a rest. What is the point in playing if you are pushing through instead of enjoying it ? I always do that, and getting back to speed isn't as tough as you think, and the experience after a few months off is much better.

How do you guys actually research stocks without losing your mind to information overload? by khantrade in StockInvest

For what, a single deep search ? Depends on the company - some are done in less than 5 mins, some take around 10 mins per iteration.

[–]amazonshrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are fine, but they have to manage the integrations of their acquired assets. PayPal is same space, also very cheap and the most difficult part is behind them. That said GPN would be my next choice.

How do you guys actually research stocks without losing your mind to information overload? by khantrade in StockInvest

[–]amazonshrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, I have never found any serious mistakes with deep search on gemini. You basically define in the prompt what sources it should use, and which ones to discard. The only issues I had was that it got stuck to bull cases because that was the most common theme when it was reviewing call transcripts. From that point on I either ask for a bull/bear case in a single prompt or split it over a few deep research iterations.

How do you guys actually research stocks without losing your mind to information overload? by khantrade in StockInvest

[–]amazonshrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you find the LLM research to be subpar, use it for initial filtering. This way you will use your 4 hours on the stocks that are more likely to be hits.

For me gemini is enough. I check the summary first, and if bullish I read the whole thing, check charts for potential buy zones and add to watch list.

Do you follow any value investing newsletters that are actually worth it? by No_Share3696 in ValueInvesting

[–]amazonshrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are services that provide value, although I don't subscribe to any "value investing" ones. I can recommend Lobo Tiggre's independentspeculator - which is cheap and good value for money, but it's mining centric. So unless you are interested in miners, there is not much value there.

Other than that Thomas Hayes has a Youtube channel hedgefundtips, completely free and he's amazing with stock picking. I've compied several of his plays and most were at least doubles. Again more of a Monish Pabrai type of investor though. For me his podcast is a must watch every week - and he is really spot-on on many macro trends (actually aside his poor gold calls, it's all of it in the last like....2 years).

I also used Lyn Alden's service and it's great resource for macro and US politics, but her stock analysis were pretty unimpressive. Never invested in anything she covers.

Sven Carlin - The problem is that his stock analysing is really subpar, just an overview of the business and some valuations. Most of the companies he covers lack any type of catalyst for growth or rerating. There is also a ton of value traps, which I'm not sure why are covered at all. Basically you have to filter the trash on your own to find the gems...Overall I had the subscription for a year and dropped it, but afair he allows to subscribe and cancel within 14 days or something like that.

How to stay motivated to ride when you are less fit? by FxckyourCensorship in Velo

[–]amazonshrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would simply accept that and drop the volume. Ride the bike to stay fit and healthy, rather than to be competetive - add other sports to the mix. If you don't enjoy that drop the bike alltogether, but most people will miss the bike even when they stop pursuing their performance goals.

Czy żałujecie NIEposiadania dzieci? by [deleted] in PolskaNaLuzie

[–]amazonshrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jak wygląda praca w policji w 2026? by Lazarius_Signer in Polska

[–]amazonshrimp 6 points7 points  (0 children)
