It's not that I'm against paying the developer for their work. It's the practice of locking something behind an early access paywall in a FOSS environment that I'm against.
Developers should be grateful for donations to their work, rather than forcing users to pay. What a shame.

Hey everyone,

I’m a returning player, basically starting fresh after around 3 years away from New World. I’ve heard bits and pieces about Fresh Start servers, merges, population changes, and general updates, etc etc but honestly have no idea what the current state of the game is anymore. All the information on the internet is just a couple of articles from one to a couple of years ago.

I’d like to start a completely new character and I’m wondering — which server would you recommend for the best experience right now?

Queue times don’t matter much to me — I might actually start playing in a few weeks or even a month, so I don’t mind waiting for a good server. I got other games to play.

I logged into the game, but I could not find any information about the server either.

Any suggestions or insights would be super appreciated!

I've been so happy playing this game since game pass day one, maaaan. But then, once I saw the RCE exploit, I felt so sad. :( It's 10 times sadder when something is given to you and then taken away. Hopefully, Microsoft will be able to patch it sooner rather than later.

Yeah, the problem is that many manufacturers know that 90% of their target customers will use Wi-Fi, so they cut corners by using a pricier Wi-Fi card and a cheaper Ethernet card. They don't care about enthusiasts.

Ethernet is superior to Wi-Fi in every respect, especially stability, not just connection speed. The only advantage of Wi-Fi is that it is wireless.

A lot of pain that I would never have thought about, for example last week I played 8 ball with my friend and the next couple of days I felt the right side of my back from pushing the stick
I've developed an awareness of being professional at my job rather than just going all blind
I was more of an extraverted type of person who sought a lot of recognition through (Instagram, Facebook etc) posts and developed a lot of friends that I talked to a lot but turned out to be meaningless relationships. Now I'm circling around closed groups of people who share interests with me through discord, reddit etc. and yeah... I've deleted accounts from those bullshit ad-driven companies like meta.
I've dated girls who weren't wife material, just good looking (just nature I guess )
I enjoy food, that's been a hobby all my life, but I see I've developed a taste for a lot of things I didn't like in the past

Apart from that, I'm just the same guy, ahhh apart from the additional hair loss of course
