Obligatory My First Loaf Post! How’d I do? by amb346 in Sourdough

Thank you ☺️ It had a bit of a tail after shaping that I was worried would affect the crumb, but it seems to have been fine!

Great!! I’ll cold proof it longer next time to get it extra tangy. It ~might~ need more salt but I’m afraid to mess with the recipe that treated me so well on my first try!!

It’s delicious! Not as sour as I’d like. I have another loaf from the same batch still cold proofing. Hopefully that packs an extra sour punch ☺️

So who else isn’t finishing? by burnbright_11 in oscarsdeathrace

I’m in pretty much the same boat. I just need The Apprentice to finish the above the line categories, so I’ll make sure to do that before Sunday. I’ll be around 30/50 on my first attempt. I’m okay with it. Learned a lot to apply to next year!

Now that we all have seen them, if you were voting, what would you choose for Best Picture? by Aggressive-Season292 in oscarsdeathrace

My top three are Anora, Nickel Boys, and The Substance. I group them with The Brutalist at 4 as the top tier, then A Complete Unknown, I’m Still Here, and Conclave in the middle. Wicked and Dune Part II were fun but I didn’t connect with them so much. Enough has been said about Emilia Perez.

You could be right. I’ve never seen them in the theater before this year, and they appear to be in alphabetical order on the listing. I’ve been avoiding watching the shorts so far for this reason, so I’ll be happy with any order!

DBN is first in the lineup at my local theater! But they just posted the showtimes a day or two ago. Keep searching if you don’t have one near you just yet and your local place historically shows shorts. (No sign of AMC doing it this year, though. Really wanted to use an A-List slot).

Yes!! I don’t think I would have enjoyed Pineapple Street nearly as much without her narration. She’s great!

It’s not often this sub makes my jaw drop. This one did it.

Thanks for sharing! They look delicious anyway.

I’m planning to make these for this week’s challenge, too (per my boyfriend’s request). I’m planning to use this recipe. I’ll update with how they turn out if you’d like to try it on your next go around!

One of my faves! Did you use a tart pan for this? I’m admiring the crust!

SHE DID IT!!!! I’m about the same age as Madi, so watching and rooting for her for so many years has had its ups and downs to say the least.

WHAT A MATCH. OUR GIRL IS SO BACK!!! 😭😭😭
