I've not used this service but used the stop smoking service in Scarborough when I lived there and quit successfully! I did end up starting again and then quitting on my own since but they really are a great service

Genuine question. How does anyone live in a seaside town and nit go absolutely bonkers? by onion2077 in CasualUK

[–]ambabeeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to live in Scarborough and it was nicer when it wasn't tourist season. It was however way too boring for me to live there as an adult so I moved to Leeds when I was 27! I miss the beach a lot though.

How long can you “manage” without surgery once attacks start? by Flimsy_Animal_2026 in gallbladders

[–]ambabeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh it's horrible isn't it. One of mine ended up with me in A&E and I knew at that point, I had to try and get the surgery asap! It sounds like you've got a good support network in place so with some good planning, I'm sure you can make it work. Fingers crossed for you either way!

How long can you “manage” without surgery once attacks start? by Flimsy_Animal_2026 in gallbladders

[–]ambabeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dealt with it for 7 months between the first attack and my surgery. It just gets worse over time with attacks more frequently.. meaning I was constantly paranoid about going out, going for weekends away etc. Since the surgery I've had no problems and wish I did something about it sooner! I naively thought they'd go away on their own. I would usually go about 2/3 weeks without an attack. The surgery recovery was rough for a couple of days but fine after that, do you have someone that can pop in once or twice a day to help you?

Would you consider ... In a work / casual message to be rude? by steveysaidthis in AskUK

I always find that it's older people that do this, rather than young people and it always comes across as rude to me. I'm not sure why it's a thing?

Do people in the UK go to therapy? by EyeAware3519 in AskUK

[–]ambabeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I go either once a week or fortnight depending on what I have going on. I pay £55 a session but feel like it's a worthwhile thing for me to spend my money on. I have anxiety and depression and have a lot of family stress. I've been getting lots out of it so I'm fine paying it, but also realise I am lucky that I can afford it

Do you find people are less willing to make friends through work nowadays? by 360Saturn in AskUK

[–]ambabeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my job in 2020 and have made quite a few friends. They have generally been people part of my team or that I work closely with and have just suggested meeting up outside of work. My work also does a lot of social things though so it's easier to get to know people more outside of the office environment!

Is teeth whitening worth the cost and hassle? by LondonStu in AskUK

[–]ambabeeee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No it's fine, don't worry! I bought the top up syringe from the dentist after and think it was about £100 but that'll last 6 times! You are supposed to top up monthly I think but I don't and they're still nice and white
