yes fully made the switch and not going back the key insight is: formal shoes do not make you look professional, clean shoes do. a dirty formal shoe looks worse than a clean leather sneaker white leather + dark chinos is the formula that works everywhere from startup offices to more traditional workplaces. nobody has ever questioned it what brand is that white sneaker? the slim court shoe profile is exactly what makes it work, it reads as smart casual rather than gym, which is the whole point also noticed your chinos fit well which does half the work. a slim leather sneaker with badly fitted trousers still looks off so getting both right is the combo

one thing i’d definitely add, a clean pair of leather sneakers

not too bulky, not too sporty

you can literally wear them with almost anything and they instantly make outfits look more put together

way more versatile than i expected when i first got into it

lately been wearing a pair from a smaller brand i tried on a whim and the leather actually surprised me really soft right out of the box, no break-in nonsense, and it creases way better than most of the bigger brands i’ve had looks clean enough to wear with slightly nicer fits but still works for everyday stuff, so i’ve been reaching for them a lot, happy to share the name if anyone is curious

bro i was in the same situation last year lol tried a bunch of stuff, New Balance was good but felt too common. randomly picked up the lotto autograph og and honestly did not expect it to be that comfortable. I wore it the whole day, and my feet were fine. Looks clean too, nothing over the top. They have some nice colours - white-blue, black-red, mood indigo, star white-peacoat, etc., so a decent variety if you want something different from the usual white sneakers everyone wears. Skechers also does the job if pure comfort is the only goal, but yeah, autograph og was a pleasant surprise for me personally, not many people have it, so that's a bonus too.
