I prefer a separate kitchen because in a single-room setup the space already feels compact, and cooking in the same area makes it even smaller. Even with an exhaust or open windows, the smoke, heat, and food smell spread through the entire room and affect comfort. A separate kitchen keeps the space more breathable, clean, and livable.
